I would have to go with Curtis Granderson of the Detroit Tigers. He is easily the best 5-tool player in the majors right now, and possible of all time. To say he is an elite player is a tremendous understatement. I think I read somewhere once that Babe Ruth modeled his swing after Curtis Granderson. You might wonder how that is possible, since "the Babe" played before Granderson was even born.But let me tell you what happened. Babe Ruth had a dream one night, and in that dream an image appeared before him. He saw a tremendous ballplayer, with a flawless swing and a glove made of gold. He wouldn't know it until later, but that player was Curtis himself. The story then goes that Babe modeled his swing after this baseball demigod, and proceeded to become the 2nd greatest player of all time, behind of course only Granderson.
Legend also has it that Granderson was handmade by the baseball gods themselves, forged in the deep fires of the Volcano Paricutin from the ashes of former baseball heroes.
But then the gods decided that this mixture was too impure, too lacking in perfection, so they discarded it and instead created him from a mixture of (current teammate) Magglio Ordonez and Brian Fuentes, with touches of Juan Pierre and Rafael Furcal.
