What is the longest two pitchers on opposite teams have both carried a no hitter?
Hi. This is a great question because it addresses the issue that all Hall of Fame voters are going to have to face over and over in the next few years. What to do about people who are suspected of taking steroids. I believe they belong in the Hall if they did well enough in baseball even with the steroids. Let's assume Sosa took steroids. Look at all the other players who took steroids and did not come close to hitting 600 homers. I'd vote to put him in the Hall, but let's talk it over a lot first. Thanks for a great question. Why do the Los Angels Angels not show up on my scoreboard even though they are a selected team?
No he is not a "hall of famer". The point is he STINKS!StubHub...Has anyone here used it before? Did your tickets come on time? Are they reliable?
Looking at him he definitely is a steroid user! Never, never, never, in the hall of fame!Does anyone have anything new to add to the Bonds discussion?
He'll have the numbers(but numbers only), but like all of the players from that time, he will be made an example of and not be let in based on speculation and conjecture of steroid use. Not to mention that other than #600, what else is on his resume. No championships (please don't blame Bartman), BOGUS M.V.P. voting and horrible defense. And frankly, rightfully so. Pete Rose belongs in before Sosa, & McGuire for that matter. Also, just for the record, Bonds belongs in, his pre 'roid numbers and accomplishments are more than enough.Barry Bonds makes me sick. Agree or disagree?
If McGwire gets in Sosa will get in. They will both have the same fate because they where both soley power hitters. Bonds has 3 MVPs and 9 Gold Gloves going for him from before he is alleged to have taken Steriods. Personally I doubt McGwire and Sosa will get in. I think Palmerio will have the better chance because he has a couple gold gloves and 3,000 hits. But I would like to see none of them get in.Is Barrys Bonds'challenge to Hank Aaron's record still legitimate?
Never used 'roids, huh? Isn't in interesting that he disappears from baseball for a year or so after not being able to hit out of a wet paper sack when the crackdown came along? Now he's back, and no one on TV ever brings him up with the steriod thing. He is a user and should not be in the show at all. No Hall of Fame or honorable mention for Sosa.Who is the starting catcher for Toronto?
nooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyCan someone please tell me how the Mets got crushed today...?
Is a COFCork of Fame
How do you tell a counterfeit Red Sox ticket from a real one?
No because they don't let cheaters into the hall of fame. Just look at Mark McGwire one his first ballot he was not granted the right so neither should Sosa.Who's the bigger Yankee fan? Brady or Ortiz?
I believe Sammy Sosa should end up in the Hall of Fame. The major case against Sammy's HOF credentials (and Big Mac's and Bonds' and others of this era) have to do with steroids. Let it be known that Sammy has never been caught with steroids, has never tested positive for steroids and has never been criminally linked to steroids. Any claim that he used steroids cannot be proved unconditionally at this time. Additionally, although steroids are illegal in the United States, they were not against the MLB rules for the bulk of Sammy's career, specifically the time when he and many others mashed a billion home runs. This fact alone should be enough to clear the steroids argument from the Hall of Fame argument.Steroids are not the only performance enhancing/degrading drug used by Major League ballplayers. Using the argument that steroids enhance performance, destroy the integrity of the game and thus render a player's statistics null implies that any drug that affects performance, either positively or negatively, should do the same. Imagine all the players that have taken amphetamines, pain relievers, muscle relaxants, etc. having their numbers wiped out. Not as ridiculous a request considering when a player is on any number of drugs/medications his play is different than when he isn't on said drugs/medications.
Remember Kirk Gibson hitting that home run and pumping his fist as he rounded the bases? He had a pain relieving shot right before that at-bat. Should we strip it off the books and remove that instance from baseball history? Hell, no. The shot was allowed within the rules. And, during most of Sammy's career, so were steroids.
The rules are the main guidelines we have for judging a person's play and career. Barring that corked bat incident, Sammy Sosa has played within MLB rules and compiled one of the most impressive stat sheets of all time. He belongs in the Hall of Fame.
I understand that there are many follow up questions to this. I'd love to hear more and be given a chance to respond as I'm sure my answer to this question will draw some ire. Thanks.
If Bonds breaks the career homerun record, will you root for ARod to break Bonds' record?
He's not yet a Hall member, but in due time. His battle with McGwire is phenomenal. He'll make the hall in 3-4 years after he retires from baseball. No a chance. He isn't even that good. Could never field and if it wasn't for the steroids he wouldn't have the home runs he has. He belongs in the hall of cheaters along with his buddy Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds and all the other chemically enhanced baseball players.
Depends if he is innocent until proven guilty. I don't know what he used or did not but suspect he might have.
His numbers should get him in. 594 hrs, will break 600. Carrer .275 hitter, 7 time all-star. He won the 1998 MVP not Mark McGuire's 70 HRs. 6 time silver slugger award winner. He is fifth All-Time in HRs, 3rd in multi-HR games. All eligible 500 HR guys are in the HOF. Based on numbers and previous elected people, he is in.
He has the numbers, but then you have to weigh the fact that there is a good chance those numbers are skewed by performance enhancing chemicals and possibly a corked bat or two. He won't be a first ballot HOF for sure and I think he will have to wait a long while because of those controversies, but I think eventually he gets in.
What team leads the majors in HRs in the last ten yrs.?
Yes. I hope he does. Good Power hitter.Whats youe favorite baseball player?
Even though im a rangers and want him to do well this year i say no. No to Barry Bonds too.He will be as soon as he is eligible. Right now he's a Designated Hitter, for the Texas Rangers.
actually they didnt prove he did steroids, and the cork bat may have been an accident, he's a HOF in my book
But the Baseball HOF doesn't let in Pete Rose, Mark McGwire
I doubt "Slammy" Sammy Sosa will be there
Red Sox Game tonight question?!?
