Baseball archives for the florida marlins 1998, 1999 team members?
have you heard of jason bay?Oh you mean kinda like what Prince Fielder did yesterday? Eat your heart out Matt Capps.
Which division is the most boring?
They might spend some cash, if/when the major league roster starts winning and it has a shot at the playoffs. In other words, don't hold your breath. The small-market Pirates need every dollar they can garner through revenue sharing to make up for their lack of gate receipts.i agree jason bay is good, but certainly not a hero! maybe they have somebody in their farm system that can club the ball, but i am not sure about that either. i dont see them going after people like a-rod or manny...they just arent the kind of team to do that, and history has shown it.
Which HOF baseball player recorded the most homeruns in a single season?
hope so......While I think that the originization could definatley spend more wisely, remember that one homerun hitter does not save a team or win the division. Take a look at the teams that are winning right now and win consisitantly: they're doing it with pitching not long-ball heroics. A prime example: the NY Yankees. They have probably the most potent offensive line up in the major leagues but they're pitching hasn't been there and they are way in the hole right now. Last year the Chi White Sox lead all of MLB in homeruns hit as a team - they didn't make the playoffs. In 2003 and 2005 the TX Rangers lead the league in homeruns hit as a team and finished dead last in the Western Division both those years. Homeruns and homerun hitters don't make or break a team. But a closer, a long reliever, or a couple of starters can.
How much interest is there in a 16mm movie of the 1948 World Series?
I think that Pittsburgh does need to spend some money, but they need to go out and find some quality pitching. A "homerun hero" will help a team win only a handfull of games, but a good pitcher will help a team win 15-20.If you want proof, Ryan Howard led the majors in homeruns last season, but the team hovered around .500 the entire season and missed the playoffs. However, Houston was dead in the water two seasons ago, but the return of Clemens helped them into the playoffs.
Derek Jeter hit his 1st home run of the year off of what pitcher?
As long as the Nutting Family and K.M. are running the team, Pittsburgh will never see a winning team or a home run hitter again. Mark Cuban wants to buy his hometown team Pirates and they are not selling but if Cuban could buy them, that is the only way Pittsburgh would be a winning team. How do i pitch a baseball faster?
They can't spend it just because they have it. The guy has to agree to come play for that sorry team. The only way for them to get good players is to develop them in the minors and then try to re-sign to long-term deals before they can bolt to the riches of New York. They've tried spending money on mediocre veterans in the past (Burnitz, etc) and have seen that it doesn't work. This is a team on the rise with some solid pitching and a decent young lineup anchored by Bay and LaRoche. Have some patience and your team could end up in the same place that Milwaukee is in right now looking down on the rest of that sorry division. The two guys I mentioned have 40 Home run potential which is more than a lot of teams can say. Ronny Paulino is also going to be a good power bat when he gets some at bats under his belt.More Questions & Answers...
