he can't hit lefties and he strikes out alot. so he platoons with righthanded meche when their left handed pithchers.Where can i find old major league baseball footage?
Jenkins, once a solid all-around hitter, is seeing his hitting decline against lefties, but Jenkins continued to hit right-handers with some authority to the tune of a .306/.381/.490 clip, which shows great average, great on-base ability, and above-average slugging for corner outfielders. If the Brewers team him with a lefty masher, which isn't very hard to find, they'll have an excellent platoon tandem that will maximize Jenkins' value as his skills deteriorate due to age and slower bat speed. At this stage of his career he is more of a platoon type player sharing time with Kevin Mench in left field. His stats have declined the last few years and he sure does have a hard time hitting left handers. Historically he strikes out 25-30 per cent of the time and not the guy you want up with a stat like that when you have men in scoring position.
