Leave him alone. Steve Barton did not cause the Cubs to lost. Moises Alou and Alex Gonzalez did. If Gonzalez had not made an error... ERROR... then that foul ball would be nothing. Cubs fans can't seem to understand that the team screwed that inning up and let the Marlins get the best of them.Moises Alou could have caught that ball easily. (Fun fact on Alou: He pees on his hands to roughen them up instead of using batting gloves. It's true.) The ball was FOUL, just because Alou could have had a play on it does not mean it was Barton's fault. Now ballparks have less and less foul territory and if Wrigley were of today's dimensions that would have been way foul.

The Cubs still had plenty of time to recover from that and to win the game, and they couldn't close the deal. That's not Bartman's fault. That can never be the fault of anyone except those who were paid to manage, couach and play for the Cubs.
