Do you think the Yankees are ring material?
Question:Do you think the New York Yankees will receive their 27th World Series ring? Many people have their doubts with their horrible start, but people, it's only May! The Yankees can still be back on top by October. What do you guys think? This here is my opinion:
Yes - They've got a bad pitching staff this year but with the addition of Roger Clemens, they've just got so much better. The Rocket will help them soar with his 7 Cy Youngs.
They've also got their already great offense. A-Rod is bound to break the *cough*LEGAL*cough* single season HR record this year with his exceptional start. They've also got power hitting in Jason Giambi, Bobby Abreu, Derek Jeter, and the rest of the gang.
They have defense in Johnny Damon, Melky Cabrera, Robinson Cano, Doug Mientkiewicz (<--spelling error?), and Derek Jeter especially.
So with such a great team, do you think they'll win the World Series?

What are some of your favorite baseball announcer cliches?
The Yankees are always a ring contender. Big George opens his purse strings to fill in the gaps that every team has during the course of a season. (For example, the Clemens signing.)Lots and lots of offense. Capable pitching, particularly if they stay healthy.
Once the Yanks make the playoffs, however, it gets tougher. In a short playoff series, the deepest team doesn't always win. (For example, Randy Johnson's struggles in the playoffs after becoming a Yankee.)
But it is a smart bet to think New York will be one of the clubs in the playoffs.
they will be ring contenders when pigs fly
Is it true that alternate black jerseys are going to soon be phased out by MLB?
I don't know...like you said it is still early in the season and anything could happen...but no offense or anything...I'm kinda hoping that they don't make the playoffs this year so that some of the other teams (like the Giants) that don't normally get in will.btw...
.......
GO GIANTS!!!
One 44 year old pitcher is not gonna turn the Yankees around. Roger is still really good, but he is not enough to turn the Yankees around. He didnt win any World Series with Houston, so why would he with the Yankees. This season's Yankees are worse than any Yankees team in the last 10 years so I would say they arent gonna have a shot at the World Series. The AL has a bunch of great teams this year, and even if they do manage to get to the World Series, I think a team like the Mets, Braves, or Dodgers would overpower them.
I have a question regarding becoming a pro baseball player?
Not a chanceof course u already know i think arod will break the single season hr record and der pitching staff is getting better
The Yankees are always contenders but I don't believe that they will win another series until they build a more well rounded team. their pitching is awful. The names you bring up would be great 8 years ago and Clemens is just too damned old to think he can save this team. ( he does prove me wrong every year though) Rivera is done and Hughes just went down. Wang is steady but it is uncertain whether he is a true number 1 starter. As far as the 7 perfect innings go, one game does not make a great pitcher.(Len Barker threw a perfect game and he was worthless) The Yankees won their rings with teams built from a home-grown core of players like Jeter, Rivera, and Bernie Williams. It seems that they are beginning to stop trading future talent for over-priced stars passed their prime but this year will not be the return to dominance. I am not a Yankee hater. I think having a dominant team like the Yankees is good for baseball and gives the league it's identity. I like the Angels and playing the Yankees in the post season is more exciting than playing in the World Series.
I definitely think within the next 5 years they will win another ring, i'm one of the biggest yankees fans you will probably ever meet and i'm a girl. i've grown up on them and stayed consistent at hard times like in 2001, i believe they will win a ring, but not this year. the pitching this year is too confusing and ust out of order. when they get it in order they definitely will. the offense is doing so well, a-rod, posada, robi, and jeter. i know that the pitching isn't at their best and it hasn't been for 3 years. but the one thing everyone knows is they always do bad in the beginning and then at the all-star break the yankees beat the sox.
