Why was Randy Johnson ineffective in New York?

Question:

Answers:

If a pitcher gets pulled with one out in that inning why is it counted as .1 of an inning?

Randy Johnson was not really ineffective in New York. Just not liked. When the first thing you do is when you walk into New York is push over a camera man it does not look good for your image. He was just not accustom to the big market atmospher. He actually had a winnning record as a yankee. He is also a warm waether pitcher in his older age so being in new york was hard for him to keep his arm warmed up between innings

He likes pre-game Latina action, so the Southwest is more conducive to his schedule.

If I am perscribed steroids?

Because he was getting old, the New York media aggravated him, and he was more suited to pitching in the national league

Dont u love this?

He's ANCIENT FOR AN ATHLETE AT 4O SOMETHING. Add in he always had injuries + age+ wear and tear from being a pitcher, he wasn't going to be at that high level people thought of. Also, he is more of a small town kind of guy. He was most successful in Seattle, Montreal, and Arizona. There you may get more attention, but there isn't that culture of crap that NY/New England area of the US has going.

What are the chances of a MLB team having a perfect season (162-0)?

Velocity. The fastballs he was throwing were significantly less than when he was in Arizona. He has to change speeds. But when the breaking and off speed pitches are only 5 mph seperated from his fastball, thats a problem. He also had immense pressure from the fans and front office. He was called to save the pitching staff. He was supposed to replace Pettite and Clemens. They are both back with the Yanks, how funny.

Anyone else SICK of ESPN's infatuation with Boston and New York?

For the same reason he is ineffective now. He's a baseball relic that needs to retire.

Save? What is the definition of a save?

He never had the ability to win the crowd over. That is paramount in New York

How far will LA Dodgers go?

He went from the N.L to the A.L at an old age. Clemens will experience the same thing.

Is Tony LaRussa a very questionable winner?

Has a MLB pitcher ever broken his own arm pitching?

There are couple of reasons that happened:
When power pitchers get old and lose it ; they lose all of it and their decline as pitchers is rapid.
RJ simply could not handle the big city atmosphere of NYC after playing in small towns like Seattle and Phoenix. RJ didn't embrace NYC and consequently NYC didn't embrace RJ.
Lastly RJ couldn't handle the greater number and variety of Latina women that NYC has. James ,contrary to the salsa ad's admonishment's;I would rather buy a salsa made in NYC than in San Antonio because there are more Hispanics in NYC than in San Antonio, that's why the thumbs down.
