Why is the starting time for Toronto Blue Jays home games seven minutes after the hour?

Are there any white sox fans out there that go to the games that can tell me?

It's essentially done for television. The Blue Jays' broadcast needs a few minutes to set the scene and sell some ads. Rather than say 7 p.m. start and have people wait around, the team figures 7:07 is closer to the actual first pitch.

However -- depending on circumstances, it can be a couple of minutes later.

By the way, the White Sox start at 7:11 ... because of a promotional tie-in with a certain store.

Toronto is in a wierd spot where the sun goes down for the evening. Most games start at 7, but Toronto is between the hour difference. Remember, its Canada too!
