Like the Yankees not winning any recent world series OVER AND OVER AND OVER! In case you haven't heard, the Yankees are still trying to buy talent. They don't know how to spot a developing player that can give them long term success, they just go out and fork over loads of cash to try to buy a guy having a good year. Well, I guess the fans are willing to pay for those overpriced tickets.I don't care where the money comes from, but the fact is that before revenue sharing there was little competition in baseball, and that was the only way the Yankees could win, since guys would just go to New York for the large paycheck. Well, now that teams can hold on to their players, the Yankees strategy doesn't work. Besides, back then no one was watching, so it was destroying the game, but Yankees fans woudn't give a sh*t. They would have their team beat up on the local little league and still talk sh*t.

i can name TWO. just TWO. I'll say the Yankees do have a better offense but right now, the Sox at least have good pitching. Rivera has blown like 5 games already while papelbon is still lights out in the 9th. no way A-Rod keeps this up for the ENTIRE year but you can still expect HRs in the high 40s while everybody else on the yankees arent playing up to expectations (besides Jeter). damon is doing horrible. cano is being quiet. i cant even name another outfielder. Posada is doing pretty good. While the Red Sox ahve Papi in his usual swing. manny in a slump. lowell on fire. Drew doing ok. And if they are in first, they wont win the world series. look at the past 5 years. each year they lost in the playoffs and didnt get a single world series ring.

It feels pretty good knowing the yankees are deucing in thier pants having to sign a old dude that may be good, may not be. Either way your yankees still have to make up 3 more spots in the rotation and clemens will only pitch home games, I believe, which means the yanks will still be horrible on the road. Dunno about you guys, but it still feels good that the Red Sox came back from 0-3 vs the Yankees in the 04 ALCS.
Thats was either the greatest comeback in a 7 game series or the biggest choke job in a 7 game series.
