Kerry Wood. Although his appeal is wearing off. The kid K was thrown into fame by an awesome outing were he struck out 20 Houston Astros. That year was his bright spot and he has never shown that brightly again. He has talent, but he is not the pitcher he was made out to be. Stubborn pride kept him from doing the best thing for himself, which I believe is to become a closer. He could soon become the most feared closer in the game and probably stay healthy all year as a closer. You know he'll pitch inside and at 95 mph + on a fastball the hitters know he'll hit a batsman on occasion. That's enough to keep most of them off the plate. When the curve ball works it's knee buckling. Staying healthy and not rushing rehab is Wood's biggest problem.Pujohls

It's Ryan Howard just look at what he is doing this year and he was ranked high on everyone's fantasy boards. Pujols at least has had a number of consistently strong seasons and I expect him to get out of his slump soon but you can't be too sure about Howard.Barry Bonds...to celebrate or not!?
To the people that said Pujols...your idiots. My choice would be Derek Jeter. I'm not saying he isn't a great player, because he is, I just don't think he's as good as you are led to beleive. These are his career averages, .317 average, 16.6 HR, 77.5 RBI's, 115.6 runs, 22.6 steals, 194 hits. Solid numbers for a top of the order guy for sure, but not even close to all time great type numbers. He is potrayed as one of the greatest shortstops of all time, when in reality the guy playing 60 feet away from him at third is a superior SS in every way except leadership. Calling this guy an MVP candidate and an all-time great is honestly a product of where he plays. Put him in a small market and he is an All-Star, but would fail to garner all the gold gloves and yearly MVP talk. As I said he's a great player, but not as good as the media would lead you to beleive. Rip this choice all you want, but at least I didn't pick the best hitter in all of baseball who could turn out to be an all-time great by the time he's done.Should they ever allow Sammy Sosa & Mark McGwire into the Baseball Hall of Fame ?

Pujols? Are you kidding me. I think he could very well end up being the best player to EVER play the game and I'm not even a Cardinals fan. Without him that lineup has no punch Why do you think they've had so much trouble scoring runs this year? Because he started slow. He means more to his team than anyone else in the baseball and he will soon go on one of his insane streaks. He's just to good to keep hitting like he has for another week or two. I'd say Jeter is the most overrated player. Not to say he isn't immensely talented, but people just believe he is better than he really is because he's the Yankees' Captain. He's not as great defensively as everyone thinks and there are at least 10-15 players I would want hitting on my team in a big situation instead of him.Japanese baseball and players.?

I just wanted a chance to say "Poo-Holes"i want to no y the guy said man-ram is an overrated player. Because this guy is a first ballot hall of famer when his career is over. i no he isn't a good defenseive player but the guy has 473 home runs on his way to have more than 550.a career batting average of 313 and an on base % of 410, also a slugging of 596.lastly he has over 1500 RBI's.and i think the most overrated player is alfonso soriono because he don't walk he plays terrible defense.
