It's a tough comparison because they're different types of hitters. Don't listen to these guys telling you that one of the two is clearly the "better" player. Reyes is perhaps the best leadoff hitter/speedster in the game, and he can be a great asset to a team, but Reyes's crazy runs-scored numbers are also due largely in part to the guys he has hitting after him like Beltran, Delgado, and Wright. Utley is great too, but with the Phillies he has the role of driving in Rollins and Victorino. And a large part of why Utley is so valuable is because he's the best player at a position that doesn't have many consistent power producers.In terms of fantasy baseball value, despite the fact that Utley plays a premium fantasy position, Reyes is clearly superior because masses of reliable stolen bases are much harder to come by than power numbers.

Jose Reyes by a long shot. If anyone ever has a chance to steal a hundred bases, it is Reyes. He is also on a better team giving him more chances to produce.
