Couldn't have said that better!!I'm a Red Sox fan and while I'm not pleased with his performance so far, I think its too early to call him a bust. If he was a Yankee, I'd probably be laughing at them, but as a Sox fan, i'd punch any Yankee fan who laughed at me!

Dice K is fine. No excuse for him, apart from is last start , he's pitched very well. The guy doesn't get enough run support..that's not an excuse it's a fact.Like I said, apart from his previous start, his previous start made his ERA ballooned to over 5. Prior to that start, his ERA was about 3. You guys make it seem like he is earning 100m a year. He is only earning 8.6million a year and he is the Sox NO. 3 starter. Our expectations is for him to win about 14 games this year...The guy is coming from Japan, he has to adjust to a lot of things including language barriers and being away from his family. Maybe next year, we will have higher expectations for him. Anybody that doesn't think getting Matsuzaka is a good move for the Sox has got to be kidding me. The Red Sox has the best starting rotation in baseball. The Red Sox spent the money they think they could spend.
I mean the Yankees got Jose Conteras from Cuba for a lot of money and Carl Pavano... How are those working out for them? I'll rather have Dice-k than have Jose C and Carl Pavano combined!!!!!!!

It is too early to call him a bust. He has had some good starts and some bad ones. I would compare him to Jose Contreras. He has had a lot of up and down games in his career.

He's not a bust, he was just over-hyped.That's what happened when ESPN "the redundant channel", ran out of stories to do. They have sooooo many people working for them now and so much time, that they have to sensationalize stories and keep them going, just to fill in air-time. The same way that your evening news does.Remember the gyro-ball, made up by ESPN for a story.

You Yahoo Baseball experts really crack me up.I'm niether a Sox fan, nor a Yankee fan so here's my 2 cents.
1. It's waaaaaay too early to call this guy a bust. That's a fact. Yankee fans, if you can call Dice a bust now, then you better be calling your season a bust now too.
2. Dice is coming from a totally different pitching situation in Japan. He needs time to get situated with the American League hitters. Yankee fans, remind me again how Randy Johnson did for you in the American League? Yeah, I thought so.
3. In regards to the above, there are some pitchers that can't adjust to the AL batters and gameplan (Johnson) and simply do better in a pitcher's league (NL). Nevermind having to come to a totally different country. Give the guy time to settle in and get his mechanics right. Once he does that He'll be fine.
4. Speaking of which Yankee fans, how well is Roger throwing for you right now? Yeah, thought so. You don't even know if he can get back into shape, nevermind if he can even still throw like he used to. Will you all be calling him a bust after his first 5 starts if he's a little shaky coming back? Yeah, I didn't think so.
5. It was well known before Dice got to Boston that he had control problems at times. They knew this going into it. All they can do is work with him on it.
6. If Dice is a bust already, the Yankees entire starting rotation has been a bust since the start of the season and Roger won't make much of a dent to fix that.
