Which baseball team has the best announcers?
Question:I'm going to be a homer and choose the Indians. Their radio broadcaster Tom Hamilton is very enjoyable to listen to. I love his home run calls and he injects humor into every game. One crew I can't stand is the White Sox tv crew. Whoever the chief announcer is, is the most biased, annoying person I have ever heard in broadcasting.

Why in some baseball parks there is a path of dirt from the pitcher's mound to home plate?
I've heard all of them. Without question, nobody comes close to Ernie Harwell of Detroit. He can paint a picture and describe the conditions of a game so that you can smell the hot dogs.Far and away the worst is Tim McCarver. He guesses wrong on every pitch thrown and has no idea what the guys are thinking on the field. He makes a joke of the game and for the last 10 years or so we've had to endure his idiocy because Fox owns the playoffs. I hate to think kids are listening and believing what he says without question as they should.
The most boring is Skip Carey in Atlanta. Imagine Ferris Buehller's teacher calling a home run: "There's the pitch. Deep drive. Gone. Home run for Chipper"..zzzzzzzz
I also will homer and say the Dodgers Vin Scully the other broadcaster suck but Vin Scully makes up for it.
What is your playoff prediction for the season 2007?
Another homer here, I'm a big fan of Denny Matthews - the radio voice of the Royals. He's been there since their very first game in 1969. I can't stand the White Sox announcers either. That "he gone" crap is the worst strike out all I've ever heard.Going back a few years. I think Phil Rizzuto was a great baseball announcer, and maybe because I listened to them on the radio when I was a kid, but Dave Van Horne and Duke Snider, who called the Montreal Expos games in the 70's and 80's. I also like Joe Morgan as an announcer... and whenever Will Ferrell or John Camponera imitate Harry Caray, I laugh my head off, so I think I would have enjoyed his calling the Cubs games.
Are the yankees the most winning franchise i think not?
Well The Minnesota Twins did until Herb Carneal died this past winter. He is the only one I know that has had a song sang refer to his voice as a important part of Life. R.I.P HerbHas there ever been a day in MLB regular season history without a homerun?
long live vin scully!Who was the worst Baseball player ever?
I have to go with Pat Hughes and Ron Santo of the Cubs. If you want to enjoy baseball these two will make you laugh and teach you some history about the game. What makes them even more special is that they have to be good to help forget about the Cubs losing. After them I would say Vin Scully and Bob Coustas, followed by Harry Carry. Is Jimmy Rollins on roids and will he get caught?
Yea, i hate the white sox guys, "you can put it on the board, yes", i just hate them...i like matt vasgersian and mark grant, guys that do the padres games, vasgersian is getting more national exposure, i also think timmccarver has to go, he is boring as hellYankees. The Dread Sux have the worst! LOL
Who is actually (this season) the best pitcher in the NY Mets?
I like the Reds announcers of Marty Brenneman and son Thom and Jeff Brantley. They make a great team and great to listen to, also.Who has the most career home runs without ever being in a World Series?
I'm going with the radio voice of the Cleveland Indians also. Tom Hamilton is amazing. I often turn off the sound on the t.v. and listen to the radio while I am watching the games. He's that good!Do any other baseball players have a blog like Curt Schilling?
the St. Louis Cardinals' late Jack Buck was one of the best. Currently I really enjoy Joe buck, his son, who does fox games on the weekend. What is the difference in score to get a save in the MLB?
I'll be a homer and go with Tom Grieve and Josh Lewen of the Rangers. Josh does the Fox game of the week also.I absolutely hate watching any game in which Joe Morgan is the announcer. Games would be better if he just shut up.
Chicago Cubs. Pat hughes more than carries Ron Santo who is there because he is a wealth of information not for his ability as an orator.
I used to love listening to Harry Kalus and Richie Ashbourn call a Philadelphia Phillies game that was so good. those two were so good together. I think they suck now with Chris wheeler and Gary Mathews both of these men suck so bad. but outside of Philadelphia I'll go with the crew for the Cubs not sure who it is cause I don't listen to them that much only when they are on the TV at the Bar with no other games on.
Does the president ever attend a Nationals game?
The Boston Red Sox obviously, Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy are the best in the game.Ihave had the MLB package on satellite for years, and now I use XM radio, so I have heard most of the TV and radio voices for most teams. I think the St. Louis Cardinals have the best announcers as a package. Start with Joe buck, who does their home TV broadcasts during the week. On radio, you have Mike Shannon and his gregarious style, along with the professionalism and enthusiasm of John Rooney. What makes the Cards announcers so great is that they truly love the GAME, and they are just as likely to applaud an opposing player's work as a Cardinal's. They are able to look at each game in isolation, so that you never get a sense from them that they are bored or anticipating a game's outcome. And, of course, the spirit of the legendary Jack Buck still infuses the Cardinals broadcasts. Check them out, and I am sure you will enjoy this team of announcers.
Does anyone have any cool pitches i could learn 2 throw?
For radio definitely Mr. Baseball himself Bob Uecker. You've all seen Major League 1 and 2, so you know what I am talking about.Where can i find abbott and costello routine, based on the red sox lineup?
The best in radio is John Rooney of St. Louis. The best voice in the business. I also enjoy the Milwaukee radio broadcast. The worst - easily the Cubs radio booth. Pat Hughes is fine - but Ron Santo might just be the worst radio guy ever. He has no idea what is going on ever, and is such a homer that when the Cubs are losing - or something bad happens, he starts pouting!
On the Yankees home jersey, what does the black band on the left arm mean?
The Giants announcers are the best that's why they are on all of the video gamesEverybody wants to talk about the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees. Who Cares?
If you would like to hear different announcers try http://freebaseballradio.com/ you can get a taste of many of them. What would you baseball fans do if.?
Not even close..Mr. Golden Throat. Vin ScullyGreatest announcer of all time - Harry Caray. The next closest is in a very distant 2nd: Harry Doyle (Bob Uecker - "Major League"). 3rd is Bob Uecker in real life. Also, Jack Brickhouse of the Cubs ("Hey - HEY!") who broadcasted from the late 40's to the early 80's should be listed right up at the top. He is the voice on the audio track of the famous Willie Mays catch in Game 1 of the 1954 Series at the Polo Grounds.
I'm quite surprised that only two others have made mention of Milwaukee's voice of the Brewers... Bob Uecker. He's also played the role of announcer for the Indians in the Major League movies... If you still can't picture who I'm talking about... watch for those DirectTV commercials. When you here, "Juuuuust a bit outside." (That's him).
Also, how bout Milo Hamilton of the Houston Astros? He was privileged enough to call Hank Aaron's record breaking 715 homer.---> "Swinging... there's a drive into left-center field... that ball is gonna beeee... OUTA HERE! IT'S GONE! IT'S SEVEN-FIFTEEN! There's a new home run champion of all time... and it's HENRY AARON!”
"Holy Toledo!"
