What are some good ways to break in a softball mit besides using it a lot?
This is just a shot in the dark, but I would have to say you are referring to Mildred Ella Zaharias Didriksen, best known as "Babe", who was of course a multi-sport athlete most likely known for her golfing talents, but of course great in other sports, as well..Babe Didriksen of course helped to put women in sports on the map, and help us to appreciate the fact that women can be as talented athletically as men. I even heard her once called the "white female equivalent of Jim Thorpe" - the talented multi-sport athlete of the old Carlisle Indian School fame. Seems like a fair comparison to me! They were both great athletes... I'm sure today there would be someone offended by such a remark, but come on! He wasn't white, and she was. He was a guy and she obviously wasn't. How else can you describe her in comparison to him? :-)
I don't think her memory will ever be completely forgotten.
