What 3 players should hang up the cleats at the end of the season?
Question:
Answers:
Barry Bonds, when he breaks the recoed
Randy Johnson, Injuries really taking effect
Barry Bonds for sure. He will have accomplished his mission of having more HR's than anybody else, he will get no respect (I am not either pro or con on this point, just observing), so he has nothing left to do. He will try to go to some other team, to see if he can get to a WS, but he will want so much money that nobody will give it to him.
Randy Johnson, his age is showing, and he has won WS rings, Cy Young awards, so there is nothing to play for, except money, that I think only Arizona will give him.
Tom Glavine, he is pitching great so far and might get to 300 wins, probably the last pitcher ever to do so and the Mets are good enough to get to the WS and win it, what a great way to go, on top and with a WS ring.
What's the best MLB team and why?
Randy Johnson should give Arizona their money back.Julio Franco of the Mets is pushing 50.
David Wells has no arm left and is beyond out of shape.
P. Burrell, D. Roberts, Coco Crisp or Mike Cameron as OF?
The original big 3Greg Maddux
John Smoltz
Tom Glavine
They still aren't bad, but it'd nice if they went out together before they started really declining.
Mariano Rivera
Julio Franco
Randy Johnson
Barry Bonds, Randy Johnson, and Curt Schilling. I would put Roger Clemens on that list but I'm not sure if he hasnt already retired (I never know when he is retired cause he is always coming back).
Why are the Red Sox and White Sox spelled S-O-X, and not Socks?
Randy Johnson if he does come back from the injury- I think he probably shot his arm in New York, and I doubt even if he comes back he's going to have the velocity he needs.Barry Bonds will probably retire after passing Aaron. I think the pressure will get to him right after he hits 756.
Tom Glavine has said he'd want to get to 300 and wrap it up there. He will get to 300 around the all-star break, hope the Mets let him leave a winner, and then go back to Georgia.
