It's a real shame too!! The Indians used to have a huge following. Lack of attendance, especially when they are leading the division, will give the owners a reason to ask to relocate, and since baseball is a business, they will be granted the request. Indian fans beware!!Chow!!

I think that everyone who goes to the Indians' game should neither wear nor buy anything with that tacky, stupid, racist cartoon Indian head logo on it. Ask an American Indian what they think of it. Keep the team name--lose the logo.They just do not support their team anymore - and they boo Thome for leaving, when the club simply would not pay him what he was worth! I don't get these fans there. They blame it on everything but lack of interest. They must have the worst fan base in the MLB now! They drew better in Milwaukee than their own stadium!!
yeah I was kind of wondering about that. whenever I watch a replay of a play that happened in their park, there doesn't seem to be very many people in the stands...same with the devil rays.

the economy in cleveland and ohio in general is very bad and people can't afford to go to baseball games.
It seems like everyone in Cleveland is focusing on NBA. Hopefully, the record will be better once the nba playoff is over.

I don't live in Cleveland,I live in NY so it is very dissapointing for me to see so few fans there.If I lived in that area I would go to eveyr game I could.But there a a few reasons why their attendence is so low.1.Cold weather-There were times so far during the games that it has reached 10 degrees farienheit.
2.Less games-With all of those snow outs the Indians have had 4 less games to rack up their attendence.
3.Focus on the NFL Draft and NBA playoffs-People opted to go to the draft or go to the Cavs game where it is nice warm instead of cold.
There are a few reasons,the attendence will pick up.I highly doubt they will be behined teams like Flordia,and Kanas City by the time October comes around.The Indians will also lose 1 home game this year due to the 4 snow outs.That could hurt a little.And for the one above me I am Native American and I do not find the logo offensive at all although I see where others might.

Are you talking about when it was F'ing snowing out? Hey there was a home opener game in Cleveland-even though one out before it was officially a game the umps cancelled the game. There was fans there freezing their you know whats off and they waited through every "snow" delay that day. The attendance has picked up now that the weather is cooperating. There is still a strong Indians fan base in Northeastern Ohio-that has always been there and that will continue to be there. Well that is difficult to say. Remember when Jacob's Field had consecutive sellouts? That was when the team was winning in the 90s. Of course they are winning now, but maybe the Cavaliers are taking some fans away since they are in the playoffs. It costs more to get a basketball ticket than a baseball ticket.
