Is that catch by Derek Jeter where he goes into the stands THAT good (read the details!)?
Question:Yeah it's good but it's not as good as some others. Like Juan Uribe, shortstop for the White Sox and my favorite player, for example, made a catch where he dove into the stands and was probably the greatest catch in World Series history. And I barely ever see that on TV. DJ is good but I think he's a little overrated. And where can you watch that catch by Juan on the internet?

How to figure era in baseball?
Stephen S has provided a perfect example of how constant exposure warps our memories. Jeter's dive wasn't in the postseason. Heck, it wasn't even after the All-Star break. It happened on July 1, 2004. There's no comparison to Uribe's play as far as situation.Comparing the plays themselves also leans heavily towards Uribe. Uribe caught his ball with his back to the infield while falling into the stands. Jeter caught his ball running to the side, took a good 4 steps and then jumped into the stands tripping over the wall. Jeter's play looked great on TV, but Uribe's play was the superior defensive effort.
Is next year finally here for Cubs fans?
Ok, I'm a Red Sox fan, but I have to give props to Derek Jeter's defensive plays in the postseason. Uribe's catch was good, but Jeter's came at a critical moment in the game with runners on base. Plus the incredible abandon he took with him on that catch makes that one hard to beat. And if you think about it, he's made at least a dozen of outstanding defensive plays in the postseason (the relay to get Jeremy Giambi being the best). I imagine that's why his is the featured catch and not Uribe's.Put it this way, there have been hundreds of plays better than NC State's fake alley-oop in the 1983 NCAA Championship game, but the story behind the play is what makes it so special.
Who? LOL

Sorry I am just being silly...I am a Derek Jeter fan :)
I need tickets to the Friday the 27th game between Ole Miss and Miss. State. Please help.?
Just buy any of the Sox world series dvd's and you can watch it anytime.Yes, Jeter's catch was that good. And I agree that Juan Uribe's catch in the 05 series was just as good(better for me, as a Sox fan)...but the media overhyping all things NY is just gonna happen.
I don't know where to find the clip on the internet...I just pop in my 05 Series DVD.
Are the yankees smoking crack?28 mil for clemens?
Yea duh it was that good...he got hurt catching the ball too. And boy did i feel bad for him...but he looked so hot all bruised up...it made him look tough.and boy is he to have mad that catch. GO JETER!! i <3 u soo much!! GO YANKEES! =)Yeah, Jeter's catch was THAT good! The guy bruised his shoulder and had a cut to his cheek that required stitches. He didn't have to do that in a July game, but he did. Not too many guys will launch themselves into the stands while catching a ball on the dead run.
And Jeter was NOT out of his position. Jeter went a long way from short to catch that. He is the best at chasing down pop flies, including making the over-the-shoulder catch into center field.
No. Any time that a player makes a play that looks as spectacular as that one, it really means that he was out of position for that particular pitch, to that particular player, in that particular situation.
