Depends on the rule book. However, I was on our little league board when my son played about 5 years ago. The game would have been declared whatever the score was when it was stopped for darkness. If it was a tie, it was a tie. No reverting back to another inning. Again, check your league's rule book.Are the NY Mets making a new ballpark?
They revert back to the 5th.A complete game is seen as having 5 complete innings. The innings after that are gravy until it reaches the 9 innings. So due to them having only 1 inning after a complete game completed, they would just go back to the score at the end of the 5th.

If it was a completely played game i.e. all 6 innings played, then it should be a tie, but your son's league could have amended the rule in their constitution to provide for no ties.Unfortunately I think your son has just found out the hard way that some people will do anything for the "W" including screwing little kids and teaching them that good sportsmanship don't mean squat when it comes to adults living their lives through their kids.

Can be very complicated, it depends on the age group, where you are playing, meaning are they play Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, TTAB. Then does your sports association have any rules that they go by other than Organiztional rules. Was it a play off game or just a regular season game? all of this would factor in to deciding the game outcome.

So, in your son's case the game should continue the next time the teams meet at the same diamond (or another diamond if no more games will occur at that diamond).
It is very likely that your son's league will have it's own darkness rule and if it does not, then you need have the executive of your league create one and put it in your rules. My league simply allows ties to occur.

I have not read a LL book in a while but IMO it should be a suspended game to be completed prior to the next regular game these 2 teams meet. ( pick up where you leave off)If the visitors tied the game in the sixth and the home team did not complete their turn at bat it is a suspended game no question.
Check the LL rules book I believe in Rule 4 (4.11 or around there) to verify.
