How can I tell if my softball bat is broken?
Question:I have a 2-yr old Demarini slowpitch bat, and while there are no visible cracks some teammates have commented on the sound it makes, saying it might be broken/dead. I'm not a consistent enough hitter to really notice a performance difference (that I can definitely blame on the bat, at least). Any thoughts on what I can test/check for to see if it's time for a replacement?

If your bat is 2 pieces and not one, then your bat is broken. How come nobody acknowledges the fact that major league baseball lowered the pitching mound.?
IT MAY BE YOUR EYE HAND BRAIN COORDINATION IS BROKEN...NOT YOUR BAT. IF ITS ALUM..IT SHOULDNT BREAK, IF ITS WOOD KNOCK THE HANDLE INTO THE GROUND HARD N IF U HEAR A DEAD SPLINTERING SOUND OR SEE A CRACK/SPILT IN THE WOOD NEAR OR AROUND THE HANDLE ITS PROBABLY BUSTED, U CAN FEEL IT TOO WHEN N IF U MAKE HARD CONTACT/HIT THE BALL!Is there a girls baseball league?
First of all your bat, can break on the inside. Take it by the barrell, bang the handle on the dirt if it makes a ding, its probably dead. If it sounds like a bell ringing when you make contact is another indication. Bats are made so complicated now that they have material on the inside that can come loose (break). What are the top 5 baseball players with the most home runs who were born in Iowa?
Hold the bat by its barrel(the part which hits the ball), then bang the end of the bat handle(knob) against the ground. If you hear a rattle, then something is broken. I own a DeMarini slow pitch softball bat, and they're know for "shock" absorbtion. Thus, you really hear a "crack" of the bat upon contact, UNLESS you hit the ball very hard(290'+).More Questions & Answers...
