Will the Yankees end up with Dontrel Willis, Scott Kazmir or continue to develop minor league pitchers?
Question:
Answers:
If you are Ichiro at the end of the season. What 3 teams would you want to play for?
A better question is . . . "What do the Yankees have to trade for anybody?" A team will want prospects. The Yankees have always maintained a great minor league system, but they may not have the young talent a team would want. Can Alex Rodriguez speak spanish?
Here is a simple answer: Yes.A more complex one:
They will do a little of both (go after a big name star as well as develop their own talent). The Yankees are realizing again that the most recent success they had was when they were developing their own players, and they will continue to make trades to get pitchers like Humberto Sanchez (Yankee fans - you got a good one there) while developing pitchers like Phillip Hughes.
But their ability to take on salary almost at will will make them able to add players of the caliber of Willis, Kazmir, etc if their teams decide to trade them/or they become free agents.
The Yankees are learning what many small market teams have discoverd - the best thing to do is "grow your own".
What became of Phil Plantier (Red Sox, Padres, A's, Cardinals)?
Any arm at this point would help NYWhy is the pitcher catcher tandem called a battery?
any arm would help the yanks right now so it wouldnt matter... but in the flip side i know for a fact they would not get dontrelle because he is the heart of the marlins and they wont let him go. so there best chance would be to get kazmir but he still isnt a big veteran or anything. They will not end up with either of those players, no. Those players are staying put for now. And, if they move it wont be to the yankees.
That is not to say that the yankees wont trade for pitchers if they need them down the stretch, cause they will if they do.
On the topic of their minor league pitchers, the yankees have some great talent in terms of pitching in the minors.
Do you know any good fantasy baseball players?
Even though both would be great rotation pieces I doubt it. Wills "is" the Florida Marlins(along with Cabrea) so unless we can get him as a free agent Florida will want alto for him. Now,Kazmir interesting possibility but not likely because the D-Rays are going to lock him up and they need veteran pitching not young guns. They're better off developing look at Karstens before he got hurt,Rasner wasn't bad,Hughes is Hughes, and we have Olhlendorf and Clippard waiting in AAA.Who is the biggest cheater in baseball history?
KAZMIR is untradable.. the devil rays will NEVER trade him.. he is their best player and the heart of that bad franchise. Willis is overrated and the yanks should not pursue him.. they will develop minor league guy and probably bring up hughes.More Questions & Answers...
