When will Yankees injured players return?

Question:More specificly the pitchers? I know they are starting to win more now, but im wondering when they willl have players like Hughs and others back. Is it known fact or atleast a estimate. And why does it say 15-dl (something like that) if they are gone longer than 15 days?? what does it mean? Thank you.

Can anyone explain how a game of baseball is played?

They'll each return when the medical staff gives the OK.

The 15-day DL simply refers to the fact that a player will be out a minimum of 15 days. He can stay on the 15-day DL as long as is necessary. Yes, there is also a 60-day DL, but the player must be injured in a way that it will be at least 60 days before he can return, AND in placing a player on the 60-day DL, they are also taken off the 40-man roster.

A player can be transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day DL, but the reverse can't happen. A player who began on the 15-day DL may be transferred to the 60-day DL if he will be out at least that long AND if the organization needs to promote someone to the active (25-man) roster who is not already on the 40-man roster. However, when taking a player off the 60-day DL, an organization must have a spot on the 40-man roster available. If that involves removing someone from the 40-man roster, they risk losing that player to another team.

Clemens: Money or Love?

They will return when George Steinbrenner renews his lease on his soul rental to the devil...and they are starting to win more by beating the hapless, pitching doomed Texas Rangers?? Lets see them beat LAA,Twins,Tigers,Redsox...a 3 game series means nothing. They swept Cleveland...then Cleveland won 10 of 11 and the Yankees sunk...

Is there anything wrong with my throwing arm?

When they're damn good and ready to return, that's when!
--ha, ha! Just kidding on that one. . . . .

The DL can be set so that the first day that the player was out due to their injury is the first day to count against the DL. It can also start the day they are put on the DL. If the player is going to be out longer, they can be tranferred to a longer DL. Sometimes players are "day-to-day," and that can last for a long time, but isn't adviseable since their team can't call anyone up in that case. In every case, it isn't an exact thing.
