How are the yankees going to do?
You have to look to previous years. Not many people jump out of no where to become blazing base stealers. Although there are exceptions those who stole bases exceptionally well in the minor leagues who come up to the majors. But those players must join teams that allow players to steal freely. Teams like the Angles and Devil Rays. Also players moving from team to team getting more playing time. Figuring the past with the rookies/call ups...1st Hanley RamÃrez
2nd Juan Pierre
3rd Carl Crawford
4th Chone Figgons
5th B.J. Upton
The Reason I do not put Jose Reyes in this list is this...He is Developing more power and alot of those singles are going to become doubles and homeruns. Also Reyes was very injury prone for his first few years in baseball. Taking in consideration those factors I just feel the 5 players I list will end with more steals. Don't get me wrong Reyes will still get 40 steals but not more then the 5 I listed.
Other players to keep an eye on...
Scott Podsednik- If he can stay healthy and raise his avg 25 points he'd be on the list for top 5 for sure, but im not sure he can do that.
Ryan Freel- He is a streaky base stealer. He can steal 3 bases in 1 day. Which could add up quickly, but like other speedsters health is the main concern with Freel. He is on the DL at least twice a year.
Corey Patterson- If he gets off to a good start this year. He could easily move into the top 5 due to the free running style of the Orioles.

2 in the Top Ten the last few years are currently out with injuries but should be in the 30 SB range include C Figgins LAA and Rafael Furcal LAD. Dave Roberts who averaged 45 SB's the last few years changed teams and is now a position player off the bench in San Francisco and will be in the high teens to low 20's range.
