How do you throw a slider??
Question:How do you throw one
Answers:
Who is in LAST PLACE in the American League East?
Here's a site that does a pretty good job of demonstrating the proper way to throw a slider (along with several other pitches). The site is run by a former professional pitcher named Steven Ellis, so it's credible info. You have to be careful who you listen to on this thing. Alot of people claim to be experts, and usually they don't know what they're talking about. And too often wind up giving askers bad advice.http://www.thecompletepitcher.com/pitchi...
Once you have the basic concept just play with it. Everybody's a little different, so play with the grip and your delivery and find out what works best for you. Just remember that mechanics are more important than movement when starting out. An unbelievable slider is no good if it hurts your arm to throw it.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

first of all you have to throw it at the right arm slot, or its not a very good pitch, around 3 quarters is a good arm slot, anyways, mine is insanely good and i throw it cross-seam, but move my hand to the right outer third of the ball, there is no snapping of the wrist involved or anything like that, its just then thrown exactly like a fastball, (by the way, if you are trying to throw a curveball to, there is no snapping of the wrist involved in the correct curveball, you dont snap it in the middle of the throw, but you come forward with your hand sideways, like it would be after you snap your wrist)More Questions & Answers...
