i have my bats in pretty good condition and i've had them at least 4 seasons. it depends though. i only use my bats for games. for practice and in the cage i use old old bats. if you want to make it last longer then don't use it in the cage. Also if it cold outside don't use your bat because the cold weather makes dents in the bat really easy.
