Wasn't it weed found in his car and not coke! I know this guy doesn't deserve our sympathies because he was the idiot driving drunk. However I can't help but feel bad for his family. News flash for ya - smoking pot does not make someone a cokehead - they are two entirely different classifications of drugs.Another news flash - many many people screw up in all walks of life, unfortunately he paid with his life - and fortunately no one else's.
Obviously given the events leading up to Saturday night's accident the guy was having personal issues.
I couldn't be any more in agreement with you. The conduct of the entire St. Louis Cardinals organization has been deplorable and an embarrassment. One would almost have to draw the conclusion that they condone drunk driving. Hancock spent his last day on earth getting tanked at a restaurant owned by a Card's announcer, big shocker! All this while their G.M. Walt Jocketty tries to distance his responsibility for the sorry mess. Everyone in baseball knew Hancock was a drunken loser. The Cincinnati Reds, who are always desperate for pitching, gave him an outright release for being "overweight." Yeah, right. And be careful not to ask LaRussa any hard questions or he might just add you to his not speaking list, like the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. That whole organization can take their number 32 tributes and what not and shove em up their collective a**.
And you ruined my wifes trip to watch the Cubs in St. Louis! Because of the game being canceled, I did not get to sit and watch T.V.!!
Stupid drunk pothead on the phone!
Its partially the fault of the owner whose truck he crashed into, seriously who the * parks a truck in a driving lane on a 55 MPH road.

Just read the story of the police report. Unfortunately it's impossible to feel sorry for someone like Hancock. Drunk, smoking weed and on his cell phone at the same time. What the hell did he expect? He was on his cell phone, too?
That's even worse than being drunk and high.
people who talk on cell phones while driving all deserve the same fate he met with.
