Division realignment in MLB Baseball?

Question:I am a Baltimore Orioles fan. We are in the American League East with the 2 highest payrolls and perennial playoff contenders. Toronto is not far behind. I believe the Orioles have a solid team and have a few pieces, however I do not believe we can keep up and beat 2 of the 3, Toronto Boston and New York for at least a wild card slot. Has there been any proposed Division realignment as there are many oddities in the alignment of the divisions. Example it does not seem fair the AL west contains 4 teams while the NL Central contains 6. Yes I am aware the AL West is a better division currently, however the tides are ripe to change over the years. I understand it is a lot of change but I am curious if there is any futuristic hope of this happening. One example wouldn't Toronto make more sense to be in the Central while a team like Pittsburgh would be a better East team. I understand there are a lot of ties to the early 1900s with the original 8 National League Teams I believe? Please help.

Who will get in the Hall of Fame first: Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, or Pete Rose?

i don't think they're going to change it just because some people want it to, though it does make alot of sense.

A question regarding base-running?

You want to talk about unfair? Try being in the AL Central, winning 90 games and missing the playoffs, as the Indians did two years ago. 4 teams could realistically win the division, and that is about as competitive as you get.

Will Johan Santana leave Minnesota as a free agent?

The only thing that should happen is balancing the leagues, meaning moving an NL team to the AL and balancing the divisions somehow.

As for the Orioles being stuck in the same division as the Yankees and Red Sox, I don't see that changing at all and I don't understand why that would happen. After all the Devil Rays are also in that division and are in way worse shape financially that Baltimore. Even the Blue Jays have struggled with payroll over the years. The Orioles have spent big before and failed. They may not be able to match what New York and Boston are doing, but it's been proven over and over that you have to be smart as well as spend. And if the Orioles are that worried about it then maybe they should join the struggle of the small market teams.

And to take it further, if MLB took Baltimore out of the AL East because of the payroll disparity, then they'd have to do that league wide. Where to you want Baltimore at? With KC, Minnesota, and Cleveland? Even your proposal of putting the Pirates in the AL East only makes your case worse since they are considered a small market team.

Blockbuster MLB trade..What do you think?

There was a time when Baltimore tried keeping up with the Yankees in spending. Sad truth is they are not getting the pitching talent out of their farm system that they used to. It's got to put a lot of pressure on everyone in the front office to know they have to scout and draft correctly to be competitive in that division.
I don't see Baltimore playing in another division any time soon.

Well Bonds break the record?

There will probably be no changes based on payroll, or size of markets. The teams are organized by their location to limit travel. There are more teams in the NL, because the Brewers decided to switch to the NL, rather than play with a DH in the AL. Pittsburgh is an East team but in the NL East.

Sorry to disappoint but the alignment of the teams will probably never be based on their relative payrolls or talent.

Is it just me, or is Curt Schilling the biggest douche in baseball?

tell the owner to put more money into his team then he will win
