Need Urgent Baseball HELP!?
Question:I play baseball for a rep team and i am usually the 1st baseman but due to a few injuries, i am slated to pitch within the next couple weeks. I need advice on what kinda drills i can do to get awsome at pitching. How often should i practice. And are there any tricks to throwing pitches like changes and curves? What kinda stance should i use? Arm actions, i need it all. Whatever advice i can get would be greatly appreciated.

Name 3 MLB players that will hit a homer tonight?
90 feet from the plate.Google "How to Pitch Baseball" and you will find some good sites
Practice WITHOUT a baseball in front of a full length mirror. Then practice WITH a baseball outside, on a mound -- even if it's on a BB field with only 60 feet from Home plate on that particular field, you can always measure 90 feet from the mound to beyond 2nd base, and you can turn around and "pitch" from the mound into the outfield when you practice there, to get an idea of where your sinkers sink and where your curve balls curve, in reference to where the plate would be on a MLB field..

Will the Milwaukee Brewers bring back old ball and glove logo full time?
if you never pitched and you are going to have to get good fast. then i hate to break it to you, but your best chance at being successful is going to be heat and accuracy. throw as hard as you can with as much control as you can. practice throwing inside fast balls and outside fast balls. that's as nasty as your going to be able to get in a short period of time. if you try throwing junk your going to end up walking your opponents entire batting order! What are Baseball club box seats?
tips-work on long toss 1-2 weeks before the game
6 days before the game- stretch out and maybe throw 45 pitches
5 days- take a break
4 days- throw 30 curves and change-ups
3 days- short toss 5-10 minutes
2 days- take a break
1 days- short toss 10 minutes
day of game
good breakfast and bring healthy snack . bring jacket to game just incase your arm gets cold.
If your arm begins to hurt at all during any of these drills, stop IMMEDIATELY!
actually, both the previous responders are wrong, the pitchers mound is 66 feet 6 inches from home plate. As for drills, i suggest building strenght in your legs, as you can generate a great deal of volosicty if you have powerful legs. As for pitches, if you expieriment with grips you can find ways to get movement without putting much more stress on your arm. For example, get the ball in the same grip you would use to through a 2 seam fastball, then, if you are right hander, move both fingers to where they are on the right seam,(left seam for left handed pitchers).
Who holds the record for most consecutive winning decisions as a pitcher in the MLB?
MLB mound to plate is 60' 6"In 1967, who finished second to Carl Yastrzemski for the Red Sox team lead with 20 home runs?
It is 60' 6" and boh is so right stick to a fastball and locate.Hit the number three batter and throw over the heads of a couple. You can probably learn a change-up in time by simply palming the ball. But if you find no control try acting, bring your arm around as fast as normal and just stop when your front foot hits the ground letting the ball float.Your tjhird baseman will hate you but you might get a couple guys with it.you need to work on pitching with your legs because thats where most of the power comes from. some good drills are...
1. if your a right hander, go down on your right knee and stand infront of a net so it would be like you would be pitching from the stretch, but the catcher would be the net. so you would be down on your right knee sideways infront of the net. just throw into the net throwing over your left knee. this teaches you to use you legs.
2. another drill, this one doesn't require a ball, just stand right infront of a wall so when you do your leg kick you knee comes up and touches the wall and come down and throw and hold your position on your follow through for about 5 seconds. it helps with your balance. balance is one of the keys to pitching.
those are just a few drills to get you started on using your legs to throw becasue thats where most of your power comes from.
3. and before the game run sprints and poles. get stretched out really good. take A LOT of time to get stretched out.
when you are in the game really rely on your fastball. hit your spots! thats so important, i cant stress it enough. work on getting ahead with your fastball and then mix a curve or change here and there, but develop confidence in your fastball. when you throw a good fastball it sets up all your off-speed stuff... when you throw a curve ball... when you take your hand out of the glove, and you are coming up to the release point you want the ball to be pointed almost at your forehead and really extend your arm when you release the ball and snap down to get that 12 to 6 spin and that bad bot will just fall off the table, and you'll make some people look stupid. but dont rely too much on your off-speed stuff so much. have confidence in that fastball!
