they cheated and it has been been proven, BUT THEY VEHEMENTLY DENY IT...I don't hate Pete Rose NOW...but for years I couldn't stand him...WHY couldn't he just admit gambling in the beginning? Maybe he could have been a manager or at least a hitting instructor this whole time...but his LYING about gambling nearly puts him in the McGwire/Palmeiro circle...it isn't that they cheated...it is that they LIED about cheating as well.
I do not HATE Barry Bonds, Giambi, Sosa etc...they still have the jury out on them..Bonds accepted that he took the cream and clear but was allegedly unaware that there were steroids within both substances. While America holds Bonds accountable, he has still not failed a drug/steroids exam. When it is proven that he TOOK the cream and clear KNOWING full well that took steroids knowing that is what they were and goes to jail for perjury, THEN I will have no problem with an asterisk next to his name provided that he breaks Aaron's record, till then- we are innocent till proven guilty!
Giambi is probably the most honest of the bunch, America embraced him because he was forthcoming and said, yeah I have and I won't do it again.
Sosa may or may not have but is playing now (and is actually playing rather well is 5 away from 600 HRs) without very much speculation after not having played for a year or two.
Bonds is in a world of speculation in which investigations are still being held because the chemist who altered the cream and clear may have done so without Bonds' knowledge. Here is why I am STILL a fan of Bonds.
First of all, MLB did NOT have any drugs steroids or otherwise as banned substances which is why McGwire took Andro in the first place-because no rules could prohibit it. Whether he took more or less than this, McGwire's GUILT took stage at the hearing, while the same hearing would prove a foreshadowing for Palmeiro who shaking his finger (always a BAD idea) at Congress said he hadn't done it. While Giambi DID take steroids he was extremely forthcoming and America took the hit well...he didn't LIE to us so it was not a problem. That is what really screwed Palmeiro more than anything.
Look at where this all happened. I would say that the majority of any HGH/drugs occurred in the late 90s while other athletes admitted "greenies" or amphetamines..
including Mike Schmidt.
Bonds is in the 400-400 AND 500-500 club and is alone in those two areas. he is at the top of the 300-300 club which consists of only 6 players.
Bonds isn't just a hitter, he has 8 gold gloves, he led the majors with the highest onbase pctg. in 1992 and 2001 thru 2004. He was a 13 time All star with several years in the 90s before steroids took front page news.

IN 2002, STEROIDS WERE OFFICIALLY AGAINST MLB RULES, NOT BEFORE THEN...THAT SAID, LOOK AT ALL OF THE GUYS WHO HAVE TAKEN STEROIDS AND HAVE MORE THAN 100 LESS HOMERUNS THAN BARRY...
SOSA HAS 595 has been speculated as to have taken steroids-not proven.
MCGWIRE has 583 and his own silence of his past held him culpable of steroids and his usage of Andro is no secret.
PALMEIRO has 569 has taken steroids and it has been proven.
SCHMIDT has 548 homeruns and admitted that several players, himself included, used "greenies" or ampethamines.
CANSECO has 462 homeruns-THE CHEMIST himself with all those drugs couldn't even get to 500.
GIAMBI has 355 homeruns and depending on how many years he plays may not have the juice to get to 500.
so ...if Steroids are ALL this and that...and you can say cheating or otherwise.but we're very unaware of how many pitchers were equally juiced.ALL that said.why is it that the rest of the juiced players COULD NOT at least get as far as Barry did? What has made Barry as special as he is? Why isn't he still sitting at the 500 mark like the rest of them?

HE KNOWS WHETHER A PITCH WILL BE A HR OR JUST A SINGLE AS IT COMES IN...WHO ELSE HAS THAT GIFT?

but I DID hate Dave Henderson for what he did against the Angels by hitting the homerun in the 9th against the late Donnie Moore (RIP) and I hated the Angels EVEN MORE than I did Henderson for folding in games 6 and 7 putting out very little effort. I was glad that the Angels won in 2002 to finally put that ring thing to rest but.now with Art Moreno as an owner and changing the name of the team...I refuse to follow a team that doesn't know where they play or the community that pays their salaries. So I have no problem cheering for the A's. they at least know that they are in Oakland and play in Oakland too...and even if they move to Fremont here in the next year...they won't become the Fremont A's of Oakland.

Um besides the cheaters (Bonds...) I really disliked Albert Belle.But the Player i have always hated was Roberto Alomar for spitting in the face of the umpire. Don't call me crazy, I'm not an "Ump Hugger". But officials are human also, and no one deserves to have their face spat in, especially not at work, in front of everyone and their mother.
