Throwing fast?
Question:I want to learn how to throw a baseball/softball faster

Why is everybody underestimating the White Sox?
You need to first learn the proper throwing mechanics so to reduce the risk of injury while putting maximum effort into the throw. After you feel comfortable with mechanics, a long toss program where you would increase the distance in which you play catch would be the next step. The farther you have to throw the ball the more effort/velocity is needed. After a few weeks your arm strength should increase and you should be able to throw the ball farther each week in the long toss program thus increasing your velocity. How will MLB celebrate Bond's 756th HR? How will Fans celebrate it or will they at all?
start working out your legs. your legs are everything in pitching, if your legs work well you can throw harder and for more innings, and that is what every coach wants anyways. Is Joakin Soria the closer for the KC Royals?
for fastball- come over the top and straight downso that your throwing hand touches your nonthrowing knee and have a nice and straight strideDoes anyone one know Derek Jeters phone #, e-mail, or how to meet him?
1st step. Choose one of the following handgrips for a combination of comfortable release and maximum control.2Step TwoGrip the ball perpendicular to the seams, at their widest point, with your middle and index fingers spread 1/2 inch apart. Your thumb lies perpendicular to the seams on the underside of the ball. With this grip, expect the pitch to rise as it makes its way to the catcher.
3Step ThreeAlternatively, grip the ball with your middle and index fingers at the point where the seams are closest to each other. Your fingers should lie perpendicular to the seams. Expect the pitch to sink.
4Step FourHide the ball in your glove.
5Step FiveWind up, and use this windup to gain power. Use the same motion you use with other pitches so that the batter has trouble predicting a fastball.
6Step SixRelease the ball from your fingertips to maintain control and gain spin.
7Step SevenContinue the motion of your arm after releasing the pitch, and follow through with your body. Allow your natural momentum to carry your body forward.
Tips & Warnings
For increased backward rotation of the pitch, snap your wrist slightly as you release the ball - this sacrifices some speed but makes the pitch harder to hit.
As your control improves, adjust your grip to maximize speed without losing control.
Gripping the ball across the seams may cause blisters.
I always grip across the seams...no pain no gain! Oh and buy some icey hot... cause your gonna have a sore arm. Warm up for 20 minutes as well. This means, tossing a ball softly for 20 minutes back and forth with a partner, never using more than 75% of your strength. After this period, give it 110% of your strength.
Oh and watch alot of baseball games on TV too, copy what they do exactly.
