How does this affect the yankees?
Question:http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap...
I'm surprized no one has asked this question.
I am curious how REAL yankee fans feel about it this, and how is the rotation going to change because of it.
A honest REAL answer from a honest REAL yankee fan please...

Last yr we made it into the playoffs without Matsui,Sheffield, and Cano, was out for a while,Pitching that's what has me more worried then anything else! When Pettite has to come in to give us a relief inning,I'm sorry we have problems!! And this has me troubled!
All time Baseball team? One player each position.?
It is only the 15-day DL, it's not that big of a deal. It says right on there they are going to call up Kevin Thompson, so I don't think it's going to affect that rotation that much. We saw Kevin in spring training and he was a good hitter as well as outfielder (we saw him hit a game-winning home run one night).Who's winning the mets/yankees game?
Matsui's time on the dl really shouldn't hurt the offense that much over a two week span. The line up has 5 other left handed batters in it that are hitting decent.Their problem is their starting pitching that has not won a game this year after facing the two worst teams in the division. What's going to happen when they face Boston and Toronto?
Torre and Guidry needs to get that pitching staff on track soon.
What is the definition of a pinch runner in baseball?
i think that matusie is real good. i think it won't affect the yankess real much because they don't have the pitching in the first placeYou ever wonder why you get so attached to your favorite sports team?
I imagine this means that Johnny Damon's got to play CF. They've been nursing him along because he cramped up, and really, Torre is entirely too conservative with these guys. It was cramps! And he held Damon out of 4 games because of it! Cramps! Just like Torre wanted to hold Pettitte out of a start because his back cramped up.With Matsui gone, presumably for 3 weeks or so, Melky Cabrera will get to play a bunch of LF. He got off to a little bit of a lousy start, but he'll come around. And the word on Kevin Thompson is that he's a good, solid defensive player with some speed. He's not going to kill teams with the bat, but he won't embarass himself either.
I guarantee you that if this was a serious injury, and we were going to go a long stretch without Matsui, they'd have called up that kid Tabata. He was beating the cover off the ball in the Spring, and I think he's 19 or 20 years old.
Never the less, I think the Yankees will be fine. It's a hamstring tweak. Most teams would probably bench Matsui for a couple of days and let him go back out there.
The Yankees are always super cautious.
Do you think Giants outfielder Fred Lewis will be an all star someday?
You don't want your answers from REAL Yankee fans, as real Yankees fans won't be objective on this one. You want real baseballs fans.Any real baseball fan will tell you that the Yankees are a relying on old players to get the job done, and old players break down easily. On the bright side, though, that means getting a chance to see the kids and the prospects play, and seeing who might cut it and who might not. That's how you grow a team.
Brian Cashman, are you reading this?
Who do you think will make the WorldSeries this season?
The Yankees did great last year (not counting the playoffs) and they had a lot more than Matsui hurting. Its early in the season and he wont be out for very long so its not a big deal.
Also, it makes it easier for Joe to get Melky the number of games he needs this year, which would require some tricky maneuvering.
They have a couple guys banged up right now and the pitchers aren't pitching very well. When those guys get better and the pitching comes around, the Yankees will be at the top of the division like they have for the past decade.
IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. MELKY WILL DO JUST FINE IN LEFT FIELD. DAMON WILL BE OKAY. AS FOR THE PITCHING THEY WILL BE INDOORS FOR THREE SO THAT SHOULD HELP. WANG WILL BE BACK SOON. HUGHES IS JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY & I THINK CLEMENS WILL BE THERE IN JUNE.
