I have third pick in my fantasy baseball draft.who do you think I should pick?
Question:Should I go with someone like Pujols who hasn't been doing good yet and hope that he will get better or should I pick someone else who is already playing good?

A-Rod would be a mean pick at three if only because of how fast he has started this year, but let's seriously look at a couple of other big names you won't have to fight others for with the third pick. Miguel Cabrera and Vladimir Guerrero. If Pujols is available you would be a fool not to take him. You can't look at 4 games worth of at bats and make predictions. All players, even the best, suffer hot and cold streaks (it's the nature of the numbers). If anything, you'll benefit by him not getting hot right away and dropping to the 3rd pick.Otherwise, go for Ryan Howard or if your league values steals but not so much batting average, go for Beltran.

Pujols is probably the biggest "can't miss" in the history of fantasy baseball. Reyes is the best 5-category contributor in the game...he'll hit for average AND power, plus ad 50+ SB's. Howard is a posterchild power hitter. He'll knock you 50 HR's and drive in 120+ RBI's

I'm assuming Pujols won't be available (if he is, he's a no-brainer), and I'm assuming this is a standard league for categories.The safest bets in my mind are A-Rod and Santana. But I'd also give serious consideration to Beltran, Guerrero, David Ortiz and Soriano.
Reyes is awesome, but I struggle to call him top-3-pick-awesome unless you greatly value steals. I'd also be wary of Ryan Howard, who has incredible power but struggled late last year and has a risk of carry-over. Those guys are late first-rounders, I think. Also, be wary of Utley. He goes super-high because there's an enormous perceived drop-off between him and the current #2. But with all the young up-and-comers with breakout potential at 2B, you want to pay for his production and not his position eligibility, so don't stretch for him.

I would take Pujols if he is still available but if not I would take A-rod or Santana. A-rod you will get power speed and an average but with Santana you will get wins and strikeouts.
