41.There were 8 thrown out stealing, 7 dbl. plays. 4 thrown out at 3rd, and 6 at the plate. Not to mention, 2 base runners hit by a batted ball and 2 failed suicide squeeze plays.
This is not a BS or FU answer. I was the manager (head coach) of one of the teams, and was the 3rd base coach that sent 2 of those "out at the plates" and called both of the squeeze plays.
It truly was a bad day in "Mudville" July 29, 1979 (I'll not embarrass the 2 teams, but I will say they were a level far above "amateur")

The first guys answer would result in 40 total outs at least so unless it went to 14 innings or more his anwer isn't possible. I guess that could of happened, but that is some really really bad base running. I wouldn't think it would be much above twenty in a 9 inning game and even that would be crazy. I don't have a definitive answer here, but I would say for me personally it would probably be in the range of 15...but that could be a little high.More Questions & Answers...
