What is wrong in Cleveland?

Question:Over their last 7 game homestand, they averaged only about 18,000 fans per game. That is real low for a team playing that good. Why are the fans in Cleveland not coming out to support their team?

Answers:

Who, besides me, is loving the demise of the YANKEES?

Judging from the lack of answers - they do not support them here either.
Anyone that thinks it is too cold to go - when it is in the 60's is crazy. And last I checked - Cleveland was not the basketball capital of the world. You would rather watch the Cavs (Who played only 2 times during the homestand - neither time at home) than go to a baseball game?!

Does anybody else think Steve Phillips is an idiot?

wanna know whats wrong with cleveland? DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH CLEVELAND?!?!?!!??!?!?!?

my cleavage wasnt there

How do i get better at hitting?

It's too cold for baseball...

How much of an MLB players "salary" do they actually keep?

Maybe that will motivate the team to do better and actually make it to the series and win for a change.

Then as it goes, the fans will start returning and next year there will be record turn outs.

It could also have something to do with all the attention the caves are getting.

I need to know if base ball cards from the 80s are valuable or not?

In Ohio...

Previous poster is right..Cavs are in the playoffs, once their done the attendance will go back up, plus it will be a little warmer..the fans are there dont worry.

How old was Bab Ruth when he died?

When the Tribe played their "home opener" in Milwaukee, Brewtown fans came out to the tune of 19,031. It's pretty sad when you can draw just as big of crowds in a neutral city 500 miles away as you can at home when you're first place.

Yankees tickets...good seats?

Multiple reasons. One-The cavs in the playoffs. Two-They have been mediocre for years. Three-Ownership troubles during the past. However, that WILL be changing. Given the current line-up of young talent, a deeper bullpen and one of the best farm systems in the league, the Indians should have no trouble generating more revenue over the next few years. Once the fans in Cleveland see real changes taking place, Jacobs field will be hopping. Just as in "rebuilding years" for players and coaches, it takes some "rebuilding" for fan support.

When is Pedro Martinez expected to return?

Because the wild thing isnt there anymore. And Sorano gave up on Jo-Bu

Who thinks Curt Schilling's bloody sock was a publicity stunt?

I'd blame LeBron and the Cavs, and the cold weather. I mean, they cancelled games for SNOW in the opening week!

And actually, when they moved home games to Milwaukee, they had a pretty nice turnout from the fans.

Jacobs Field is probably just a bit too cold to enjoy a ball game right now.

Among active players, who has hit the most HRs as a visiting player at Fenway Park?

I've attended 2 sub-freezing baseball games this year, and I don't recommend it. One game I couldn't feel my feet by the time it was over. I'm a huge baseball fan and most just aren't willing to show up and be miserable, when they can watch on TV in the comfort of their own home or drinking establishment.
With other sports like basketball into the playoffs, baseball isn't everyone's focus yet. Give it a little more time, its early in the season.
Here's a better Cleveland question: Why do they continue to boo Jim Thome?

Cubs fans on 99th year losing streak (please read, nothing mean in here)?

weather sucks the fat one.

Where can i find old major league baseball footage?

Bad Weather and the Cavs I would guess. Remember the Indians hold the record for most cosecutive sell outs so Cleveland will suppor this team. They come back from the roadtrip still in first and the weather warms up I predict the crowds pick up.
