listen to me the giants last year had a decent pitching staff with matt cain and matt morris and lowry and all those guys ther hitting wasnt bad either. they had guys like winn, vizquel and shea hillenbrand. but there midrelievers were horibble. and there closer benitez couldnt get a save for his life.this year it is a different story a couple days ago they had the best team era in the whole mlb. which means there mid relievers and closers are doing well. at the beggining of the year the pitchers would do well but they would get barely any runs now the hitting has stepped up. the new guys too. (roberts and aurillia has come back) so i say the giants are a very good team and have a shot at beating the dodgers to the division champs.

The Giants have Barry Zito, Matt Morris, Matt Cain, and Noah Lowry, a solid top 4 starting pitchers. They also have a pitching prospect at triple A who is rated higher than Phil (No-Hitter) Hughes. This guy has like 48 strikeouts in 34 innings and a good batting avg. against. They also have Barry Bonds with 9 homers, only 14 away from the all time record, and a few decent hitters around him.They have a chance at winning their division but they probably won't go further than a NLDS defeat to an NL East team.

The Giants are a good team, good starting pitching with Zito, Cain, Morris, Lowry and Ortiz, but there middle relievers are blowing the games for them. The Giants record should be more like 18 - 8 if their middle relievers didn't blow the games. The Giants have a good hitting team, it just that they all not hitting at the same time, they had won 8 games in a row when everything was coming together, hitting and pitching.
