Who has the best starting pitching in each division?

Question:Name the team and starters of the best in each of these divisions - NL East, West, and Central - AL East, West and Central. Maybe a reason why to get a star?

Answers:

Is there any glaring mistakes in my lineup ?

When judging who is best, I look at the depth of the starting rotation.

NL East - Florida - Willis, Olsen, Sanchez, Nolasco and Johnson(dl). - All are quality starters. Sergio Mitre is starting for while Johnson is on the dl. Mitre is mediocre at best.

NL Central - Chicago - Zambrano, Lilly, Marquis, Hill and Miller - Three quality starters and a lot of upside with Miller if he is healthy.

NL West - LA - Schmidt, Lowe, Penny, Wolf and Tomko - Four solid starters and Tomko can be also if his head is in the game.

AL East - Boston - Schilling, Matsuzaka, Beckett, Wakefield and Tavares - Four quality starters.

AL Central - Detroit - Bonderman, Verlander, Robertson, Maroth and Durbin - Three quality starters and solid potential with Maroth.

AL West - Oakland - Haren, Harden, Blanton, Kennedy and Gaudin- Three quality starters and a lot of upside with Kennedy. Esteban Loaiza also can be a quality starter if healthy when he returns from the dl.

Should Joe Torre be fired?

NL East-

NL West-

NL Central- Cardinals-Chris Carpenter, Mark Mulder, Jason Marquis, Adam Wainwright, Jason Isringhausen.

AL East-Bosox-Daisuke Matsuzaka, Curt Schilling, Tim Wakefield, Josh Beckett, John Papelbon, Mike Timlin.

AL Central-Tigers-Justin Verlander, Jeremy Bonderman,

Ever heard about Andrea rodgers he broke in with the new york giants in the late 50 s or early 60s in major l

AL East- Red Sox adding Matsuzaka to an already good pitching can only get better
AL Central-Twins sorry Tiger fans Johan Santana is the best in the game today he makes everyone around him better
AL West-Angels they keep getting younger and better every year

NL-East-Phillies 6 Starters when you only need 5 is incredible only weakness is the bullpen
NL Central—Cardinals Carpenter, and Mulder would make any staff look good
NL West—Dodgers I think the addition of Wolf helps a lot thou watch out the D-Backs are coming up close.

Why is jackie robinson's legacy so important?

As far as overall rotation strength, these are my thoughts on each division...

AL East - Red Sox (Dice-K, Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield)
AL Central - Tigers (Verlander, Bonderman, Maroth, Robertson)
AL West - Angels (Lackey, Santana, Escobar, Saunders)
NL East - Phillies (Myers, Hamels, Eaton, Moyer, Garcia*DL*)
NL Central - Reds (Harang, Arroyo, Lohse, Belisle)
NL West - Dodgers (Schmidt, Penny, Lowe, Wolf, Tomko)

How Many Golden Gloves does JT Snow have?

al east...red sox, as much as i hate to say it, have the most talent with schilling, beckett, and dice-k fronting the rotation, although whether or not dice-k will actually pan out and whether beckett can hold up in the al for a whole season remains to be determined

al central...overall, the tigers have the best with bonderman and verlander leading the way and kenny rogers returning after the all-star break to help them down the stretch...i pick them in spite of the fact that the twins have the best pitcher in baseball in johan santana

al west...angels with lackey at the front end right now and jered weaver and bartolo colon on their way back could have a potentially dominating rotation

nl east...tough one, i'll take the braves though with smoltz and hudson leading the way, and if mike hampton can return healthy they will have more depth

nl central...i like the astros with roy oswalt leading the way, although basically none of the rotations in this division have proved anything, but if roger clemens returns they could be sensational

nl west...the dodgers have a very deep rotation with three guys who could be #1's for a lot of teams in derek lowe, brad penny, and jason schmidt

Arm strength?

AL East-
1. Roy Halladay has just been dominating with the Blue Jays, a team not known for going through playoff games. He's the only consistent pitcher I know of that plays in this division.
Runner-Up: D-Mat of Red Sox: rising talent, but rookie season. He may end up being much better though.
AL Central- Johan Santana of Twins. I don't think I have to explain this, although I wished my Astros had kept him.
Runner-Up: This is tough. CC. Sabathia, Jeremy Bonderman, Justin Verlander, and Francisco Liriano all are nice choices. However, I choose C.C. Sabathia (Indians) who has proved, for years, that he is a force.
AL west- John Lackey (Angels) has proved that he can consistently win almost 10+ games with 3.00+ ERA. That's better than most in the AL, especially on a team not known for dominating others.
Runner-Up: Felix Hernandez (Mariners) has potential and will likely, at some point soon, be better than Lackey but not now. He was inconsistent last year as well.
NL east- Dontrelle Willis, John Smoltz, and Tom Glavine all pitch in this division. My choice is Dontrelle Willis, who dominated two years ago with 22 wins and a 2.67 ERA. Furthermore, he's on the Florida Marlins, a team that used to be known as the basement of the division.
Runner-Up: Brett Myers leads the Phillies. He's a young talent who'll dominate very soon, if not already.
NL Central- Roy Oswalt. This one was tough, as Ben Sheets, Carlos Zambrano, and Chris Carpenter also throw in this division. However, Roy Oswalt has carried the Astros throughout his career. His highest ERA ever was a 3.49 though winning 20 games. No other pitcher here matches his consistency.
Runner-Up: Chris Carpenter was considered a bust by the Blue Jays until he joined the Cards. Ever since then, he's had great stats, including nice ERA and low WHIP.
NL west- Jake Peavy (San Diego Padres) had an off-year last year but has rebounded. He's always been a great pitcher and I don't see that changing.
Runner-Up: Brandon Webb (Arizona Diamondbacks). It's hard to choose Peavy over him but I see Peavy doing much better.

Why hasnt NL ever gone to DH?

NL East- Mets, nasty group of starters led by pedro martinez. Can go pretty deep in the bullpen with Wagner.

NL Central-Astros- Oswald is developing great stuff and the bullpen is not too shaby, but they need another starter to step up

NL West- Padres have a nice new staff, Maddux is a great addition plus you have the alltime leading saves leader in Hoffmon

Al East- Boston has a very great rotation this year.

Al Central- Tigers, Verlander and co could be throwing in october again.

Al West- Okland has a decent staff but their pen really caries them
