1. Derek Jeter - he is joe dimaggio good. if you dont believe me, look it up. i heard them say last night that if he gets a hit tonight, he will tie dimaggio (not for hitting streak, but amount of games that he got a hit consistently, not consecutively). the record, if you want to call it that, is 56 of 59 games or something crazy like that! he is so consistent and he is the backbone of one of the greatest teams of all time.

2. Jose Reyes - awesome speed scares pitchers into mistakes sometimes. he has power and is a great 5 tool player.

3. Jimmy Rollins - a poor man's Jose Reyes

4. J. J. Hardy - he is just coming onto the scene, but he has the makings of a great shortstop. he has great power (or at least it seems like he does so far). it will take time for him to move up this list, but i think he can.

5. David Eckstein - i have to put him on this list because i am a huge cardinals fan. i love the way he plays the game and i love his intangibles. he is great on defense even though he doesnt have the best arm. he gives his all every game.

What would the greatest all time baseball line-up be, no DH.?

Jose Reyes- definately. I mean, this guy is AH-MAZING! He can hit, field, and run (of course he can run!) He's young and his numbers are already great, probably going to improve. He has a long career ahead of him.

Hanley Ramirez-basically the same as Reyes. Reyes is probably a little better, but Ramirez definately gives him some competition come time to vote for the All-Star game in years to come

Derek Jeter-He's Derek Jeter. I'm a Red Sox fan, but you have to respect a guy who always puts up solid numbers, give 100%, and can make some pretty slick fielding plays-not to mention be a team player.

JJ Hardy- isn't this like, his first year in the bigs? He's having a great year, but ask me about him in a few years.

Michael Young-he plays for Texas, and you almost have to pity him. He hit like, .412 with runners in scoring position last year, or something like that. He has four consecutive seasons of 200+ hits. His lifetime average is .297. He can score runs and drive in runs.

I'm surprised Jhonny Peralta is not on that list anywhere. I would take him over Eckstein anyday of the week. Solid defense (better then Jeter for sure) 10 HR 31 RBI's. Could potentially finish as a .290 35 HR 125 RBi guy this year.

With out a doubt its jeter, rollons,reyes,hardy,and young.jeter because he is an amazing athlete he hits .300 every year and is a great fielder. Rollins he is a fats guy with power to all the gaps and is a good defender and can steal bases on occasion. reyes is proly the best shortstop in the game he is an amazing leadoff hitter and is a steller fielder and can steal 60-70 basess a year easily. Hardy is a young guy and has a lot of talent with the bat and the glove he is really showing that he is 1 of the top shortstops in the league. and last but not least micheal young great guy good fielder but has problems with the bat on occasion he is kind of a streaky guy when it comes to batting. in order its 1.
