Bonds and the Hall of Fame?
Question:I was reading an article about Barry Bonds and if he would or would not be elected into the Hall of Fame, it looked at what a great player Bonds was before the whole steroid issue and made it sound like he should be a first ballot Hall of Famer for what he did in his career before steroid.
Now the question I have is when one takes into consideration the great career Bonds had before streroids should he be a Hall of Famer?
Now I'm not trying to be Pro Bonds, he is a cheater, but is it fare to overlook the fact that he was one of the greatest to ever play before he started with steroids?

Well Bonds has never *officially been proven to be a cheater. Do I THINK he used steroids? YES. Howeverm until his guilt is proven, he has done nothing. That is very hard for me to say because I do not like Bonds. I don't like his attitude towards the world and I do not like the fact that he is *probably getting away with cheating and breaking records that should not be be broken. With that said, if Bonds was judged on his pre-73 career, yeah he should be a hall of famer.
He is a 40/40 member (1 of ONLY 4, Canseco, A-Rod Soriano are the others)
He has always been a hitting machine and could give the ball a real ride.
He was a great fielder.
Yes, Bonds will enter the hall. HOWEVER I have not watched an induction for some time now. I will not watch until they allow Pete Rose in. He may have cheated AS A MANAGER but he was a GREAT PLAYER and never cheated a fan during his playing days while he hustled his rear off.
Wait wait whos last in the A.L. East right now?

Nope. I don't even think he should be allowed to "break" Hank Aaron's record should he surpass it. I used to have a lot of respect for Bonds and McGuire, but not so much anymore. I think they are baseballs biggest LOSERS!!! They don't even compare to men like Aaron, Jackson, Ruth, or any of the other greats. Those guys, they did it without any "enhancements". THAT is a REAL baseball player. He should without a doubt be in the hall of fame. Granted he is a cheater and did use steriods. You have to look at the fact that he hit over 700 home runs and will probably break the record which is outstanding steriods or not. If he is let in the hall of fame everybody will always question if he did use steriods or not. There will be a story behind bonds as there is behind every other hall of famer.
What is a "pitch out " in baseball?
Barry Bonds will forever be linked to steroids just as Pete Rose will forever be linked to gambling. It is going to be a fact of life. Unfortunately for Pete Rose, he was caught red handed. He is currently banned for life. Rafael Palmeiro lied under oath and I believe that he will not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. If Bonds is found guilty in the courts of lying or doing something improper, then he won't be inducted into the Hall. Bonds did have a great career. He is Hall worthy. But so is Pete Rose. If Pete can't go, neither can Barry. How can i increase the velocity of my 4 seam fastball?
He should not be allowed in the Hall of Fame. Even if he does break the record, in my mind he will not be the record holder. You say, "before he started with steroids" Yes, the issue might have came up in the last 2-3 years, but it doesn't mean that he took them before hand. Show me some hard proof that he didn't take them before that, and then I'll take another look. But because he is hiding and treating the fans with complete disrespect, he knows he has something to hide, and baseball fans do too.Why is it in professional baseball after a game, the players only "hi-five" themselves??
The answer is not how he played before steroids, during or after, but his cumulative recoded. bear in mind the hardest accomplishment in any sport is to hit a baseball travel ling between 62 MPH and 98mph that is twisting and turning at various angles and doing it consistently for average. Steroids or no steroids He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I am not a Barry Bonds Fan but look at his total performance and the years played. What players in the Eastern League of the minor leagues is worth getting an autograph?
Lame question - the steroids part. Just wondering where everyone's been not paying attention to the proof showing Bonds testing positive for growth hormone and ampethamines but not testing positive for steroids. It's only an issue and not a valid point with steroids because there's no proof.
What constitutes a "cheater" in a true baseball fan's eyes???
"Too high" pine tar on George Brett's bat?
"Spitball" pitchers?
"Vaseline" pitchers?
Runners not touching all bases?
Addition of cork in the core of Sammy Sosa's bat?
Mark McGwire testing positive for "Andro"?
Rafael Palmiero testing positive for Steroids and testifying about it?
Jose Canseco bragging about Steroid use?
Steroids? No, because they have never been proven to make pitchers pitch over 150 mph., baserunners stealing all four bases everytime they run, and hitters hitting 600 ft. HR's. I think the only benefit to steroids is shorter times recovering from injury.
Why is Barry Zito such a joke? And how do you think his 6 years with the Giants will go?
See the simple truth is that he wasn't one of the greatest players before he was slightly better than average. It is just he was more or less consistant. Ken Griffey Jr was the guy to watch. He was the great one. Barry Larkin was just as good if not better than Bonds and do you ever hear of him and the Hall of Fame? No! If you cheat you should never be considered. Take Pete Rose as an example great player but got banned from Hall for betting after his playing days were over, it had nothing to do when he played!Where did the Famous Atlanta Braves Tomahawk Chop come from?
Barry Bonds is a first ballot HOFer you can over look all those HR's,you still gotta hit emNo way Bonds is a retard on steroids he will never make the hall of fame

The reason that people give for keeping Bonds out of the Hall of Fame is that he cheated. If Bonds is kept out for this reason the Hall of Fame had better remove any player who cheated in his day that would mean any player who used a doctored ball, a corked bat, or too much pine tar when these were against the rules. Bonds did not break a rule of baseball by the way.Who is the best shortstop in the game ritee noww?
