at 14 there's no need to throw anything other than a 2 seam, 4 seam, and curve. that pitch probably wont hurt if thrown correctly, but theres no need for iti hate to call a fellow brewers fan an idiot, but nml 1635 you defiantly are one. when a curve is thrown correctly, without torquing your elbow it puts LESS stress on your arm than a fastball. calling a curve dangerous is one of the biggest misconceptions out there.

Don't listen to the first guy. Throwing a curveball at your age is a good way to end up on the business end of a scalpel if you continue to pitch past highschool. Generally speaking fastballs and chageups put the least stress on your elbow since they rely mainly on varying grips and finger pressure instead of arm angle and delivery. Looks like this pitch is just another grip for a changeup. Throw it correctly, you should be fine. What is the best formula for a good lineup in slow pitch softball?
It will break your finger...NO LIEThat is without a doubt the easiest change up to throw. It puts very little stress on the arm. You are not turning your wrist when you throw it like a curve or slider does. This is the pitch that I threw from when I was 10 until about 16, when I finally learned to throw a circle change. Just make sure your grip is lose and your arm motion is the same as your fastball. If you slow down your arm it makes it easier for the batter to predict what is coming.

It looks like a palm ball to me, which is just a different way to grip a change up. I say go for it, and like the other guy said... disregard the first answer. At 14 you SHOULD NOT be throwing a curve ball. You should stick with the fastball/changeup combo and work on mixing your pitches well and location, location, location.Would you rather be a HR king or a Avg. God?
