i think that if he continues to play at the pace he's on right now, there is not doubt.albert pujols is the best player in baseball, and will be for the next decade.

nohe is still really young but he is a great hitter. I think a better bet would be mr. alex rodriguez though considering he has 468 hr's when he is just 30 yrs old. he averages 33.4 home runs a year and he easily has ten years left, do the math and that is easily 800 home runs if he is average until he retires (he is in his prime right now by the way, and has five so far this year)

I think he definately could but it also depends on injuries just look at Griffey Jr. If he didnt miss all those games he would be well over 600.Unless baseball grows some cajones and disqualifies Barry Bonds completely and very soon, it will be Bonds' records that Pujols will need to break--around 800 or so HRs. The way Pujols is going so far, with continued excellence and health, he just might do it. I'd like to see that, actually. He's a lot better for baseball than Bonds--then again, who isn't?
