How can you rate a person a good answer?
I played 22 seasons--4 in DIV 1 college and 3 in minor leagues. I was forced to retire from baseball because of 2 shoulder injuries. If the popping is coming from the shoulder joint--It sounds like you have some scar tissue. It happens all the time with my joints both shoulders. Scar tissue is basically caused when he strain or tear a muscle the body has to build it back up and you will get some cracksassociated with it.
So my guess it is only some scar tissue and how to remedy the problem is to build those muscles back up. Search for baseball shoulder exercises and you'll find a bunch of useful sites.
There is no one here who can diagnose you. That includes anyone who might be a doctor, as diagnosis includes a full personal and family history, a hands-on exam and running some tests.
See your doctor.
If your concerned go to a doctor and get an MRI. The only way to really tell is to have surgery, but it doesnt sound like you need one.
