How do i sign with a minor league team ( single - a)?
Question:i been playin baseball for my high school for 4 yrs, and its my last year, and i want to play for a minor league team,.. where do i know, and how to sign a contract with the that minor league team.

The best thing to do would be to speak with some of the minor leage teams in your area. Go online and find some phone numbers and call them up. They would know best for what direction you need to take and opportunties in your area.you need to get scouts to come look at you. I would probably and try to get a scholarship at a school first. you need to call schools so you can get them to come look at you.

I you haven't yet been scouted, you're not going to be signed.That's what it takes, being scouted. It starts with your HS coach believing that you're good enough to possibly have a chance. He'll contact what's known as a bird scout, a local scout who has an informal tie to an MLB organization.
If the bird scout thinks you might have a chance to play professionally, he'll contact a low-level scout paid by that organization, who will come and check you out. IF he thinks you may have a chance at even a Rookie-league contract, he'll bounce his recommendation farther up the line.
This keeps happening until either you are checked by the national cross-checkers of one or more organizations, or until your report doesn't get bounced any farther up the line.
There is no such thing as a player approaching a team and being signed to a contract. Not at that level.
Stay in school, make the team there, improve your skills, and keep trying. Some players who get to the majors were never drafted out of HS. Even those who were are generally drafted much higher if they stay in school and keep honing their skills in addition to getting an education.
Normally teams don't just sign random guys off the street. Not to say thats you, but they usually have players recruited for every position. You need to remember minor league teams are farm teams for the majors, which means the major league team drafts the player, signs them and if they're not ready for the bigs yet, then they put the player on the minor league team to develop.

Chances are if your not being scouted right now you wont make a minor league team out of high school. My younger cousin in the 5th ranked high school catcher in the US and he just recently started getting offers from pro teams. Go to college and keep playing and improve.
