Players that are hurting there team by not retiring?
Question:Players pass their prime and looking really old.
Answers:
Also, he is currently blocking another player, Chris Burke, from playing his natural position at second base in order to accommodates his chase for 3,000. Burke in turn is blocking perhaps the team's best prospect, Hunter Pence, from playing everyday in center field.
Given Houston's anemic offense, it would give the team a boost were Biggio to take a seat, let Burke start, an in turn, bring in Pence for the starting job.
Does anyone know anything about Babe Ruth that I should know for a project for him in school?
the packers are my team, and i love brett, hes the best qb to ever play the game, but hes getting old and he seems to not have it anymoreDoes anyone know where I can get the 2006 San Francisco Japanese Heritage Night hat?
Curt Schilling. Always wants 2 be the Ace, but yet never delivers. Why wont people cut Bonds some slack?
I am not understanding exactly what your question is, or if you're just making a statement. Teams hurt themselves by holding on to these veterans. They decide who stays, and who walks. I don't blame these players at all. When you've been doing something for as long as a lot of these players, with as much passion, and as much dedication it's hard to let go. Many of these players started in little league, played in Junior High, then High School, followed by college, and then the professional rankings. There is another good thing that you can say about them for the most part. If they ever were a great player (IE. Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux, and etc) they already made their money that they can retire on. So I am about 100% sure that they do it for the love of the game, and not the love of the money. That in, and of, itself is very honorable.
How long will David Wright's hit streak last?
Barry BondsWhat Do You think about the Altlanta/Florida game being rained out?
I'm pretty sure as of Saturday Burke got benched for Pence in CF, do you even watch the games?. Kid has a bright future ahead of him. Biggio is out there playing for Biggio right now no matter what he says. He's border line to get into the Hall of Fame, and 3000 hits would probably be enough to do it. Just another example of what happens to a team when players become selfish. Not that I mind in this particular case, though.Question about MLB.com Basic or Premium?
This, I guess is gonna turn into a discussion about Biggio... So if I may, in the "Old Man's" defense bring something to the table... First, do I think he ought to be leading off? No, not really. However, as of last night, He's leading the club in extra base hits with 8 doubles and 3 triples (not counting homers...but he has 3 of those as well). That may be coupled with a batting avg. that is a bit on the low side, especially for a leadoff man, (.257)... But, you can't say he's not hitting... He's one of the only regular starters that are producing for them right now. (granted, it is a shame that Loretta and Lamb can't find their way into the lineup). But, Biggio is doing alright. Also, for losing a step defensively, he made a pretty impressive catch on a long run in last night's game against the Reds. Point is, he may not be what he once was. But he is definitely not a defensive liability, as some have been made to believe. He still has pretty good range.and until he shows otherwise, it really doesn't hurt having him out there. He's got a bit of fight left in him.And here's a question. supposing you did put Chris Burke in at second. Where does Loretta go?
Oh, and Hunter Pence IS playing CF.
