Here's a followup What concerns you the most about the Cardinals? The Pitching or the Hitting? Or Both?
Question:I'm still not convinced if the Cardinals are suffering from a lack of offense or defense or pitching. Is it really redundant to expose the World Champion Cardinals as a really dumb baseball team that can't pitch or hit or play defense? Do you think the players or the coaches are to blame for the slow start? What can the Cardinals do to start winning games again?

What do you think about getting rid of the minor league system in baseball?
When they get Chris Carpenter back they will get back into a groove. Don't expect a repeat of last year. The hitting will come, but the pitching will need for them to be more effective . I do see them snagging the Wild Card though. Why Directtv does not show all the Yankee games on HD?
allWhen was the last time the Reds opened their season on the road?
Look at the Cards' rotation as of late. Looper has been the best bet and this is the first time he's ever been a starter. And Randy Keisler? Sure, he was a reliever in the past, but in all the years in the league, he's only managed a 6-6 record with an ERA over 6. Wells hasn't stepped up at all, and Reyes has been a disappointment, much like he was last year. Even Carpenter was horrible in his first start. As far as the offense goes, where can you start? You can fault almost every one of the hitters in the line-up. Eckstein was moved to the other end, batting 7th or 8th or whatever. Duncan is extremely streaky. Let's not even start with Pujols (I will admit he's showing a lot more lately). Rolen has been maybe the best so far (almost hitting the cycle has been his highlight). Edmonds has been terrible for years. Wilson can't swing the bat at all. Molina is laughable and that's all I'll say. Kennedy has been extremely quiet. If anything can be said at all, it's that the pitchers have been better hitters than some of the fielders. Bottom line- the Cardinals are bad. And I'm from St. Louis and have watched every game this year. I'm not at all biased or a fan of another team. I hate the Cubs just as much as the next fan. So who is to blame? The upper management. Who did we pick up this year? Wells and Kennedy. That's about it. How are they supposed to make up for the losses of Suppan or Weaver as essential pieces to the pitching staff? And let's not forget about Mulder. I know he's hurt, and the management knew he was hurt. Why not get someone to fill in his role? The Cardinals only won the Series because of their ability to play SMALL ball. We used clutch hits, good fielding, and good pitching, not massive home-runs (remember Pujol's home run rarity in the play-offs). So how is that different this year? We are lucky to score runs. How many errors have we had? Duncan is terrible in the outfield and Taguchi made plenty of errors. And what about Pujols at first base? He's booched 6 times or so. So what can the Cards do to win games? Who knows. They're in a rut and they aren't doing anything to make it better. We're nothing but mediocre players as of right now. We need a trade to mix up the locker room and give us some life.More Questions & Answers...
