I have read quite a bit of what Georgie Porgie has written here and I respect his opinions. But the reality is that he proven your point,Giants. George, you really dont know anything about Bonds but what the media has chosen to put out there. I am not saying you are wrong..but that fans do not have any idea who these atheletes really are, only how the media choses to portray them. Theres an old saying that goes "if you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it as true". tru datI am going to assume you are talking about Barry Bonds, and The SF Giants in general (as I have read your answers many times and know where you stand).
My original thoughts are based on facts, and the fact I speak of is that Barry Bonds is a jerk. That fact is based on evidence I have seen over the last 15 years of him playing, and the way he treats people.
If it wasn't for his attitude I would gladly root for him.

Very well put. There are a lot of people out there that hate players and teams simply based on how the media portrays them in their own way.If people actually took the time and read carefully and fully researched certain topics, "their" view points would be a lot different as opposed to what the media says and wants you to see and hear. Don't be so gullible.

I think many people today are so programmed by what they hear on the radio or TV, they are almost incapable of having a thought of their own! The media will say things just to create controversy and generate phone calls (on the radio shows).As for the Giants this year, I truly believe that if Roberts and Winn can get on base with .350 OBP or higher, it will set the table for Durham and Aurellia (sp?) behind Bonds.
The pitching should be ok. Some of this will depend on Matt Morris. Can he pitch they way he used to or will it be a repeat of last season?
I too am a lifelong Giants fan and hope to see far better things than yesterdays opener.
