Where can i find the worth of a Ty cobb autograph?

Interesting answers including the person who would rather his kid take steroids and make him rich, rather than get VD from some whore. Here's a thought, how about you teach your kid to avoid both.

Winning at all costs including cheating shouldn't be applauded. Those that claim that steroids weren't illegal in baseball (despite being banned by law) should remember than when people do legal things or things they know are fine to do, they are open with it. When people do things that are below board, illegal, immoral, they will never come out in the open with it.

If Bonds truly believed that he was taking stuff that was fine and within the rules, he would have told his club to give it to everyone, so they can win the world series.

Also, to the person that says that steroids don't enhance anything but body building, if that was true, why would baseball players use them? If it gave them no benefit, they wouldn't choose to put their health in danger just to fund the underground steroid market.

Back to the original question, if Bonds breaks Aaron's record, should it be valid.
The fact is that Bonds can break 'the number', 755, but how much does that actually mean.
When Aaron was accumulating 755 home runs, 30 a year for 25 years, the average hitter was hitting about 12. That means, on average, he hit 150% more than the average hitter.

If you consider an average hitter in these times, they hit about 20 home runs a year. This is Bond's 20th year, he is at 740 (almost) home runs and that is 37 home runs a year and about 85% more than the average hitter.

So, Bonds could break Aaron's #, but not be a more prolithic home run hitter than Aaron.

Statistically speaking, if Bonds' doesn't do it, someone else will. It's inevitable. Will that person compare to his peers more than Aaron did to his, that's the true mark of a home run champion.

My prediction will be that Bonds' will break it, Alex Rodriguez will break that and Albert Pujols will break that. The 755 won't make that big of an impact, but Aaron's overall # compared to his peers will be.

That being said, the true mark is still with Babe Ruth. When he finished his career at 714 home runs, the next highest player was Gehrig at 378. When Ruth hit 59 home runs, the average hitter (which included Ruth's total) hit 3 and when Ruth hit 60, the average hitter hit 6.21.

McGwire or Bonds 'record setting' single season marks still don't compare to what Ruth did when comparing him to his peers.

The Marris"s autographs.?

Aaron, Mays, Ruth and hundreds of others MIGHT have used steroids...but they didnt...Bonds did but he is a liar...just have the Pittsburgh Pirates and SF Giants report his hat size.b/c steroids cause the head to enlarge (seriously, not just ego).Bonds is guilty....of course his "records" should not be recognize..but such a ghoulish culture in which we live.so many folks want to see him break it..drugs or no drugs....I just dont respect him b/c he is a liar..I am sure I would take them too if it would improve my "game"...if drugs wont improve ur game.."gosh, u still have to hit the ball"....then why would u take them..

Dont you think espn should show more college baseball?

Yes, I think it will be valid because taking steriods doesn't mean you'll still make contact with the ball to hit it over the fence.

Are The Atlanta Braves Going To Win The NL East?

No I don't! If Aaron had used steroids, he might have hit 900 homers. If Bonds' record is recognized, then Pete Rose and JoeJackson should be in the Hall of Fame. Cheating is cheating.

How and when is the best time/way to get autographs before a baseball game?

Good day to all :)
No he's a bum he cheated,I hope that Mark Mcwire does'nt get in the hall off a fame so Barry Bonds won't get there also. Bonds is a cheat.

Can the tigers win it all?

I say that when we look back at Baseball history, it will be clear that Bonds has done way more for the game than any other player, including Babe Ruth. Think about it though, Bonds comes under this unfair scrutiny about being a bad role model. So what, Bonds has taken some chemicals to better himself. At least he didn't pollute his body with things that made his game worse, like booze and stupid, useless women.

I mean what's worse really? I know that I would rather see my kid abuse steroids and become a star and make me rich, than abuse alcohol, catch VD from some whore and cost himself a place on the roster.

Bonds exudes that winning can-do attitude that Ruth and players of past generations lacked. Moreover, who is to say that Ruth or any other player back then never did Steroids. Ruth was probably on the cream and the clear, only you don't hear about it because it was legal back then. Bonds has the pressure of living in a flawed society where that kind of thing is frowned upon. I am with the Big Headed Monster! Go Barry!!

Why doesn't my sports team(Chicago White Sox) show up on my scoreboard?

Proof for Bonds taking steroids - NO!! NOT PROVEN!!

If Barry breaks the record, it will definitely be valid. If there are any intelligent people here in Yahooland, please prove to us how steroids can enhance anyone's performance other than in bodybuilding. In any case, it did not help Barry because he's just big and not cut or defined. He still takes a long time to recover from injuries too.

Growth hormone will build someone up in that manner but will not enhance performance. Will everyone identify the correct drug, which is not anabolic steroids! I'm getting sick of the name calling and bashing the Giants and Barry. Give us proof before acting childish and jealous that we have the HR King!

Who is the best relief pitcher in baseball this year?

Let's be fair to Barry Bonds - he has tremendous raw talent and works incredibly hard to be as good as he is.

That being said, that wasn't good enough for him - he got greedy and there's no question he's benefitted from steroids. Among other things, it's physically impossible to put on as much muscle mass in as short a time as he did without using them - not to mention all the physical evidence.

Bonds is also a liar, a jerk, a poor sportsman, and a poor team player.

But most importantly, he's a cheater, no different from a guy who throws spitballs. He should be banned from the game and his records stricken.

I'm coaching little league. How do I handle a player that is mentally handicapped?

Funny thing about Bonds and steroids. It is only because he is chasing the greatest record in Baseball, but from what I've seen as far as who really is using steroids more--it's pitchers.

I'm not condoning steroid use, there should have been clearly illegal in Baseball, but it wasn't. Now if you were a hitter facing a bunch of juiced-up pitchers (at a time when baseball was looking the other way on steroids), what would you do?

The other thing that all these outraged fans refuse to admit, is there own guilt in this whole mess. Baseball suffered after the last players' strike and interest was way down. McGuire and Sosa brought a lot of interest and fans back to the sport. You would have to be a complete idiot not to notice that McGuire and Sosa both turned into linebacker physiques in a very short period of time.

Why all this fluster over Baseball players and steroids, when football players even now are still abusing the drug and not paying nearly the same price for getting caught?

Curt Flood lost the Supreme Court Case, so why is there free agency in baseball?

If Bonds breaks the record than it shouldn't be counted. because those who actually have talent should be awarded for their hard work if they break the record. everyone makes a big deal about how good Bonds is and hes a fake! everything he does is not really reality he cheats to get what he wants and he can't be rewarded for it.

Who has the worst and best Bullpen?

I think anyone who has used enhancements should not be eligible for any records.
SO NO!

How much would you bue 2000 baseball cards for?

It's valid but nobody will respect it. Take away the steroids, parks are shorter these days. The newer fields have smaller outfields. They're tailoring the game for home runs. So it'll be like when Tomlinson beat the NFL single season scoring record that stood for over 30 years. The old record was when they played less games. People say Tomlinson has the record but he had two extra games to do it in. The HR record will be the same way. Yeah, Bonds has it, but it's not as impressive as when Aaron did it.

What do you think about what the ex-commissioner and Hank Aaron had to say about bonds?

No it isn't. He is a steroid abuser.

Where can I find free instructional softball drill videos?

No I do not! Aaron did not cheat and was very talented and used the skills God gave him! Barry Bonds used steroids and anybody who used steroids shouldn't have their record count!
