I need help w/ softball...?
Question:I was wondering how many positions there were in softball? I think there are 9, is that right? Also, can someone give me a brief description of what each position is supposed to do + where they are on the field? I would really appreciate it if someone could answer, thanks :)

u r lucky to find the most obsessed softball player ever. ok...first off there are 9 positions.1.pitcher--middle of infield and obviously pitches the ball
2. catcher--stands behind the plate and cathces the ball
3. 1st base--stands usually kitty-corner from bag...not to far away tho
4. 2nd base--stands between 1st and 2nd base
5. 3rd base--stands kitty-corner from 3rd base and gets all the bunts and line drives down the line
6. shortstop---stnads between 2nd and 3rd. ball is hit to this position a lot.
7. left field--behind 3rd and 2nd in outfield
8. center filed--stands behind 2nd in outfield
9. right field.--stand between 1st and 2nd in outfield
all outfielders job is to back up plays in the infield after playing their part in the outfield
