I don't think it matters. Look at how they treated Alex Rodriguez... UNTIL he started producing in clutch situations and producing the home runs he has been. It seems that New York is home turf for "Fairweather Fandom".
IF the Yankees went 0-162, you'd probably witness a population of people who pretend it's cool to deride their team for posting a losing record.
