Intentional Walk......?

Question:What is your take on MLB changing the intentional walk rule? I think if they want to walk a batter just have the pitcher throw 1 intentional ball. After that the runner automatically gets awarded first base. Some people will argue no because it adds to the pitch count or my get a past ball but, I highly doubt pitcher is putting much into an intentional ball. I think it will speed the game up a little...What do you all think?

Same ol sorry Cubs?

I dont think its a big deal, as long as they dont throw it over the plate on accident. They only throw the intentional walk ball at 60mph anywat

Where can I find batting cages near Imlay city Michigan?

I like the 4 pitches. If your gonna walk a guy you should have to treat it as you are pitching to him. They are trying to speed the game up by making the batter have to keep one foot in the box so he can walk around ex. Nomar Garciapara. Plus every here and there the pitcher will miss the target, and with Vlad Guerrero batting he has been known to hit a intentional ball for a single or into a gap if they throw it too close.

I want that shirt SO bad... =[?

Hmm, interesting perspective...how about just hitting the guy if you want to walk him? That'll speed it up a bit

How can I add some more velocity on my fastball?

The current rule has worked well since 1888. Can't see a compelling need to change it anytime soon.

No hitter in baseball?

I think it should stay the same.

Is Barry Bonds going to beak the home run record. He is 15 away?

no they should just hit the batter like Big D Don Drysdale used to do in the 50's and 60's.

Good place to get yankees tickets?

I actually do kind of agree with the part about adding to the pitchers pitch count and a chance of a past ball, etc

Has there ever been a major league team that not recorded a save in a year of baseball?

Bad idea. In the four balls it now takes, there are four chances for the pitcher to toss a wild one, letting baserunners advance. The pitcher now can also pull a fast one on the batter and strike him out, like in the 1972 World Series. Changing the rules changes (and in this case, limits) possibilities, and possibilities are what make sports great.

Predictions for this baseball season?

It works, leave it be. However, Johnny Bench tells the story how he was 3-2 and the dugout signaled in to just "put him on" because it was 2 out with men on base. The catcher stepped up and sideways to take the ball. Bench just let the bat rest on his shoulder and took the pitch. But as the pitcher threw, the catcher jumped back behind the plate and, "Strike three!" Bench couldn't believe what just happened. He was struck out, the inning over and the game was eventually lost. He laughs at it now but he was shocked at the time!

Who's your pick: ryan howard,albert pujols,carlos beltran,lance berkman?

Really, it probably takes less than a minute to issue an intentional walk, even with the four tosses. So I don't think it's really that big of a deal.

AT royals stadium what letter would be the first row. ie a or zz?

first of all, thats one thing to leave the same. second, some other better rules could be limiting time in between pitches maybe finding a way to get more homers and being able to review certain plays

What pittsburg pirate player hit the sausage mascotwith his bat during a baseball game?

Keep it the same. Make them throw the four pitches, because every now and then they screw it up and it makes for good baseball.

Should the Devil Rays fire Joe Maddon?

No I disagree with you, I have seen at least twice were the pitcher threw too close to the plate and the batter hit the ball, and have seen a past ball many times. this is baseball, and you have to touch all 4 bags on a homer or your out, you have to stay tagged until a sac fly is caught or your out. (and I hate the phantom tag for a double play too if he doesnt touch the bag it isn't an out) you never know what is gonna happen, so you have to play it out.

also after reading jeff? story I think she/he is telling the same story twice, from opposing sides.

Why do some major league outfielders throw like girls?

HS rules have the automatic intentional walk and I think it is a bad rule. HS rules should change to having to pitch four balls out of the strike zone for the IW.

The beauty in baseball is its need not to be rushed or speeded up. I have seen balks and wild pitches on IW's before s they can happen and MLB does not need to change.

How many career homeruns for Pujols, Howard and A-Rod at the end of their careers?
