Does anyone remember who sid finch was?

His real name is actually George Herman Ruth, he got the nickname Babe from some of his teammates when he was young. The would tease him by calling him the coaches Baby, hence Babe Ruth. He actually pitched for the Red Sox. He was a lefty pitcher and ironically still holds the best winning percentage of any pitcher in history against the Yankees. He was sold to the Yankees by the red Sox so that the Boston owner could finance a play, again with the irony, the play was called "Damn Yankees." Hit hit 713 home runs in his major league career. He did not have a number when he played for the Red Sox because baseball players didn't wear numbers back then. When he came to Yankees he wore the number 3, because that was his position in the batting order. Because Ruth made the Yankees into a huge winner the New York Giants, who owned the Polo Grounds in NY where both teams played, kicked the Yankees out. The Yanks then built Yankee Stadium, which still stands today for two more years anyway, and is also known as the "House that Ruth Built." Now, that is knowledge, and you don't even have to go to Wikipedia!

You'll really want to get books so that you have legitimate sources to use for your quotes in your paper (unless of course you aren't writing one), but for any subject as BIG as Babe Ruth, wikipedia really is an excellent place to start. Don't do your whole report off of that, but it's an EXCELLENT place to start your research for this kind of thing, b/c it will probalby point out things you didn't know that you can use.

Oh, and you can point out the common misconception about the candy bar being named after him, as it was named after the daughter of Grover Cleveland Alexander.

Who is the most electrifying player in baseball today?

Here'a an obscure fact... Early in his career any ball he hit that bounced in the field and went over the fence was called a homerun and not a ground rule double like it is today. So how many did he hit? I am sure it would not be many but a few...

Also, I think he is the top baseball player of all time. Idol is really strong and probably should be reserved for the MLK, Sgt. Yorks, and really hero's from our history and not a ballplayer...

Tribe fans..?
