Does any one else besides me hate the yankees?
Question:i know they are loaded with talent, but what a waste of money. and to add to it they sign a washed up pitcher in clemens for $28 million? this is ridiculous. maybe he'll prove me wrong, but i doubt he will. i suppose george should have invested more in pitching. maybe he'll learn from his many mistakes and actually produce some pitching from within the yankees farm system.

Yes. I hate the Yankees.However, I LOVE the fact that they spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year only to lose. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they have won more championships than any other team - but I still love seeing them spend money for nothing. Clemens is one of the worst decisions they have made. The Yanks won't even make the playoffs this year - and I'm not even a Sox fan!

Well Houston fans aren't too happy with the situation either. We thought that Roger Clemons was going to stay with us. It is kind of weird that he signed with the Yankees when for 2 years here in Houston he's been talking retirement. Sport casters here seem to think that he missed Andy Pettit too much and that's why he signed. You're right at this point only time will tell.Do you thak roger clemans is a back staber ??

I love when they sign every 40 year old free agent has-been pitcher in the world and they fail, fail, fail.The more they spend, the sweeter it is when they simply don't win. As a matter of fact, I'd call it awesome. And now that their payroll is AGAIN about $70,000,000 more than the Red Sox, it'll make it that much sweeter when they don't win AGAIN!!

They cant play on a level playing field with everyone else. So when they lose its a great year, and when they win it means nothing to anyone outside of New York. I have been a Yankee hater for 38 years now and I grew up 40 minutes from their stadium! I do love watching them lose with the highest payroll in the bigs but it also hurts the sport because it drives up the ticket prices for all of baseball and takes baseball away from a lot of people who can't afford to take their family to see a game. Yes, I hate the Yankees; I despise the Yankees; I vehemently loathe every essence of the Yankees organization. But regardless if you like the team and the pitcher or not, no one can deny that Roger Clemens is still one of the best if not the best pitcher in the Major Leagues. That is obvious from both his numbers and the way that Houston, Boston, and New York have been tirelessly pursuing him all year and the rediculous offers he's had been given up until the point he signed with the Yankees. Clemens is the kind of guy that can save a rotation and a season. Look at what he did in Houston. He makes everyone around him better. Baseball is just as much of a head game as it is physical, probably more of a head game at that level. Roger Clemens is a master of the mental part of the game and it will rub off on that entire clubhouse.Now, is George Steinbrenner the posterchild of a fool and his money? Probably! Do the Yankees need to develop a better farm system with deeper pitching? Absolutely! Is $4.5 million a month absurd? Wait until October to make that call. Because if the Yankees make it back to the series and win... Steinbrenner stands to profit many times over what he's spent in payroll this year and that includes Roger Clemens salary. He didn't make his fortune by being stupid.
